Default Codes 9D03 77A2 2EF2 N55 - 03-11-2019, 10:18 AM

I'm getting codes I can't clear.

I replaced the plug and coil on #5. It is much smoother and stronger, but now have these 3 codes.

2EF2 is misfire on 5. I'm thinking the injector is dirty/non optimal.

Any idea what the other 2 are?

This happens on map 4, map 1, 2 and with e85 on 5 and 7.

I can swap the injector real fast, but wonder if something else is going on here. Concerned i can't find the other two codes.

I'll try more diagnostic tools soon if no one has details on 77A2 and 9D03.

Also, I've been getting corrupted data warnings from jb4 each start, so I've been having it reset the values.

Related?

FWIW, I'm still absolutely baffled about the codes shown by the JB4. INPA+ showed very different codes. and it made it immediately clear that the MAF was not connected. So, I checked that and re-seated it and voila, codes gone.

I also re ran the valvetronic learning end points and 450 + 50 diagnostic, because, just to be safe.

All ran great. no codes this morning and runs very strong, and smooooth. Hopefully this week will remain code free.

Getting unintentionally very sideways when going straight in the rain in 4th was a a nice kind of scary reminder of things running right.

I'll have to dig up the PDF from the INPA+ log and get the BMW description and bmw codes identified.

So I ran into the 387F codes once again and the ignore code ( 2c90 ) . I moved the power connection to use the switched power red wire on the black plastic connector in the junction box. Now with no more battery drain, and the misfire coil/plug are addressed, and all the valvetronic bits are acting right, time to get everything running 110% again.

But now when I switch to anything but map 4 I get 2D60 when idling basically. With it in map 4, everything is great and no codes, if I'm driving at go to any other map it seems ok, but when coming to a stop and idling, it trips CEL and limp mode. But it only happens in any map other than 4 ( stock w/canbus)

Is it possible the JB4 is creating a signal that a less than optimal solenoid is unable to get the oil pressure adjusted as expected for the VANOS gear to adapt to?

After the flash ( especially since I was getting those often and weird concerning corruption messages from the JB4 ), we'll see if I need to swap the solenoids.

So now that the power drain and others are good I'm going to try to flash the JB4 and see if that gets it all back in order..

These are the results from INPA+ Operations Report and the clearing and testing of valvetronic behavior.

I drove another 50 miles today in map 4 and got no codes.

I've flashed once more the 5.17_T5 firmware. I have no codes will see if they remain and play with map switching to see if things remain happy.
