Hey what's up guys just wondering if anyone knows what this error code is. I've gotten it serveral times today. 213601 power management, closed-circuit protection: closed-circuit current violation. I'm hoping is nothing serious, car runs fine. If anyone knows please chime in I'm a bit concern and don't want to ruin something. Thanks in advance!

not really sure on that one and the images don't show up. They need to be under 200K.

@F30Allen,

I got a whole bunch of warnings and DTC's on my F30 320i yesterday morning driving off after cold start. (All of a sudden) Restarted the car and it is fine, but today drove out in the morning, and same thing. Restarted the car this time but to no avail. The drive seems very normal, power etc are all there.

In dash erros were:
Run Flat Monitor Failure
ABS Malfunction
Driving stabilization error
Drivetrain error

When I ran the code reader on the JB4, I got the error message "213601 power management, closed-circuit protection: closed-circuit current violation"

My original car battery has been weakening significantly over the period of the last 2 months though, it isnt able to hold sufficient charge to crank the car if I don't run the car for more than 2 days.

Since the error is something to do with power management, I'm suspecting it might be the battery not able to supply sufficient voltage to properly run the electronics. That is my gut feel, as recently my brother's F10 523i had a severely drained battery and the ECU automatically turned off non-essential electronic functions in the car.

Still yet to really deduce the problem. Thinking to change to a new battery and see how it goes. Will update once I know anything.

F30 Allen,

Did you replace the battery? How did you fix it?

Can't see images...

Did you leave anything plugged into the obd2 port by chance?

I got the same error yesterday, but fixed after Disconnecting battery, could be a dying battery? I don't drive much nowadays and 4+ years old battery

I have the same error code after installing a dash cam that is hard wired to my fuse box for continuous power. I also have JB4 wired the normal way, not sure if its jb4 related but I never had this error before the dashcam was installed. so chances are its not jb4 related

I've seen this error pop up when there is draw on the car after car is turned off.

Same here. Bmw closely monitors battery discharge. It senses the draw on the battery from the camera and shuts power off to the fuse box I believe. The only way to remedy this is to not use sentry mode on the camera, or get a backup battery like the cellink b
