Default No use for meth with PI? - 06-30-2016, 09:18 AM

Installed PI last night.

I was running meth for 2 years. I like the added cooling ability for lets say sitting on the staging lanes at the track.

My DME box is a mess right now, if I can eliminate the meth it would def clean it up a tiny bit lol.

Should I remove the meth completely? Or will it still serve a purpose for IATs.

I read in the PI thread to use a single small nozzle but no testing has been done.

Anyone with PI still running meth?

Desensitize the IAT timing pull table (forget what tunerpro calls it) and get rid of the meth

Meth complicates the tuning and if you are running high concentrations of ethanol, it's not needed.

E60 or higher will see no benefit from meth.

Makes sense... it's nice not having to mess with mixing meth and keeping a second tank filled

Of course the above comment comes with the disclaimer:

You will see no *octane* benefit from running meth at E60 or higher. Your fuel system needs to be able to flow enough fuel to hit AFR targets without the meth fueling. PI is good to go for most applications, TBI is good to ~550ish.

Can you back that up with anything? Not attacking you. Just wondering what proof there is of this? Data?

I tested some E60 + meth but if I'd see the same results with E40 + meth it would save me a lot of money here in England. Ethanol here being $11 a gallon or there abouts.
