Default In Car Camera/DVR - 09-16-2013, 06:48 PM

Hi Guys,

I am looking to get a camera in car to sit behind rear view mirror. I am curious to see what others are using and any feedback or recommendations.

I have seen some footage on here from various camera's, some showing track recordings with gforce and speed HUD on recording and other HD recordings showing shop owners driving cars without oil !

I dont need a screen on it, just something HD that is good quality and not overly obtrusive. My research shows they loop record for various hours and can be downloaded via wifi which would be ideal to not have to touch the unit once its in place.

I have researched a bit and looking at VicoVation WF1 or BlackVue DR500GW. I am happy to be told if I am going down the wrong path but any recommendations would be awesome.

TIA

I had one in my 335i. I used to get pulled over for stereotypical reasons. Great investment.

Thanks man. Do you remember the brand and if you would buy the same one again?

The research and vendor websites will tell you they are all great so looking for any recommendations.

I went to an old friend who did audio installations so I honestly don't know what brand. I just know I had it download to a pc via wifi/mobile signal.

I use dash cams from time to time. I got mine off of ebay. Turns on when you turn the car on. Night vision is not so good but ok for insurance purposes. You should make sure you get one that overwrites old videos when the card is full so you don't have to keep erasing it every couple of days. Check ebay.

I have the Livue LB100 and it works great. Easy to install as well. I just stuck it to the window, routed the line through the headliner and down to the accessory port below the glove box in the passenger footwell of the F30. It turns itself on and off automatically when you start and stop the car and it overwrites itself. You can read more about it here http://dashcamtalk.com/forum/index.p...p-dashcam.583/
