Hello,

I tried to find the answer by reading here a lot, but I couldn't find it unfortunately. So, here's the question(s):

I'm driving a 1M and just ordered a G5 as an upgrade to the G4 which is currently installed. I also own a Cobb AP. Most important mods are *** with race cats, midpipes w/o cats, FMIC and intake.

* is there any advantage of using BMS flash (in combination with G5 ISO) instead of OEM flash with this configuration?
* is setting 6 ('G5 ISO w/ BMS Flash, 1M, or 335is') in the interface app the correct default even with OEM flash? e.g. does the wording in the interface mean BMS Flash with 1M or BMS FLash or 1M?

Thanks!

id email terry about the bms flash, it is usually for upgraded turbos or high e85 content, but yes, that is the correct selection from the menu, the oem tune on the 1m is stronger than a stock n54 motor

Are you running e85?? If so, depending on your mix, the flash will be good...

And yes, that is the correct setting on the jb4 interface...

No, I'm running 93 octane (98 RON) pump fuel. E85 isn't available here unfortunately.

Thanks for the answers so far!

Then no need for the BMS flash.. It's only for those running larger turbos and/or high levels of ethanol...

Ok, thanks! I probably just misinterpreted this post from Terry as I'm not using higher octane with 98 RON at all

Default Been gon a while.. Need a little help. - 02-17-2013, 10:04 AM

Can't PM Terry to ask, So I'll fire away here.

Terry posted once something about hitting the volume down button while punching it, related to traction somehow. I cant find that post. Does this ring a bell? Can anyone link me to it?

Also, is the latest firmware for JB4 G4 sill the one linked to at the bottom of this this thread? N54_082112.HEX?

Lee

Looks good from what I have found. I'm not sure if you will get any help though. I posted basically the same question in the support section but also wanted to know if there were other settings to optimize my set up but I never received a reply Good luck.

Thanks Sam! I think it's updated correctly and just checking with those who are more experienced for confirmation. Sometimes my OCD kicks in.

I did a few runs on Map 1 this morning and all is good. Car pulls nicely from 60 to 120 quite quick and smooth. Planning to stay on Map 1 for a bit then switch to Map 5 and just leave it.

It sounds like you are referring to the first gear boost limit override. If you have first gear limited you can hit and hold either down button on the steering wheel to override it, allowing you to do burnouts for example.

? About hex17, what would be the benefit keeping default wastegate position to fully open when engine is off? Less rattle upon startup, cause that would be great?

That is just how the factory DME does it. So we changed the ISO to mirror their logic. No need to close the wastegates with engine off.
