Default Where is a a good vacuum source? - 06-07-2015, 06:22 PM

Just installed new exhaust and need a good vacuum source for the valves.

On the N55 I had an extra nipple next to the the line that the WG accuator uses. I used that but I'm not completely convinced there is enough vacuum...

Anyone have pics or drawings? I googled around and found nothing.

There are two vacuum nipples on the passenger side of the valve cover in the rear. Don't know how much vacuum they draw though.

Those are the two I'm using now. Well one of them - the other is going to the Wg.

Are there no other sources?

I tested the exhaust with a vacuum pump. It is opening and closing at is should. So those two nipples on the side of the engine work to open or close an Armytix exhaust.

On the 335, you would be able to use the original factory vacuum connection and the solenoid is in a panel behind the driver's tail light. So, I googled the ArmyTrix exhaust and it seems that it uses the OBDII port to control the dampers. Do you have the JB4 also? OBDII readers & JB4 don't play well together. Any problems with this?

I don't think Armytrix makes an exhaust for the 335..

The actuators are controlled by supplied remotes. But there is also an option to have the valves open when you go past 3,500 RPM. Which is what the ODB connection is for. Another nice thing with the ODB connection is if you download the armytrix app - you can control the valves with your phone as well as read on board data.

So far no issues with either. They are both working great and as expected!

They definitely make a 335 exhaust..... for the F30. I used to rip on them all the time on F30post about trying to sell a ricey exhaust for a ridiculously high price. Faux tips FTL. No idea about the E-series.
