Default Will N63TU (G Chassis) work with N63TU (F Chassis)? - 05-20-2020, 01:57 PM

Just purchased a used JB4 that says "N63TU G" on the box, came off a 2014 550i GT.

Is this fully compatible with my 2013 650i GC (N63TU F)?

Those are both N63TU applications as far as I know.

Those are both F chassis cars. GT is an F07, GC is F06.

I guess my question is what is the difference between the JB4 N63TU G & F version?

Didn't the F-series one require MAF disabling and throw a CEL? The G-series one doesn't. I think?

The only information I can find is this:

F Series N63TU:

Requires the MAF sensors be unplugged while JB4 is active, which will result in a false alarm check engine light in dash unless passive delete is enabled in the JB4 interface. For boost levels over map1 extra fuel pressure wires are suggested which connect to the end of each fuel rail under the airboxes. We suggest verifying which ones you need before ordering the fuel pressure connectors to add on. The BCM is suggested for map levels over map1 and attaches to the boost solenoids under the passenger side intercooler.

G Series N63TU:

Currently evaluating map1 levels only, which does not require extra fuel connectors or BCM attachment, but both are compatible similar to F series N63TU.

I can't even find the install pdf for the N63TU G.

I think you are right Mike, so when I install onto mine, should I be connecting or disconnecting the MAF?

N63TU is a pneumatic wastegate system using a PWG unit, while G N63R is an electronic wastegate system using an EWG JB4 unit.

I think the M550 with the N63R started around 2018 around the same time the F90 M5 was released.

Yep, the N63R/TU2 (456hp) was 2018 and 2019 in the 5 and 7, 2018-up in the X5/X6 50i. The B/TU3 (523hp) is in the 2019+ 8 and 2020+ 5, 7 and M50i SUVs. The TU (445hp) was in the 2013-2017 750, 2014-2017 550 and 650, and 2014-2017 X5/X6 50i........ I think. May have been in the 2018 650 too. Don't recall exactly when they killed it.

Well turn out it does not fit. For some reason it has only 1 TMAP connector and 3 boost solenoid connections??? Does this even sound right for the N63TU G?
