Hi Guys,

Have a persistant code of

2F4F Vehicle Speed, Plausibility

on my 2007 N54 135i running FBO + JB4 G5

Keeps bring EML light on and will clear, but then come back on after a drive out.


Quick search and get a lot of dead unanswered threads...

ABS, DSC etc is all fine and no lights.

Any ideas what this is?

Resurrecting thread as back on JB4 now!

Still have this problem - have narrowed it down to definitely something to do with the JB4. Took jb4 off in October and code hasnt come back.
Just put JB4 back on and it still comes up and brings EML on intermittantly on drives. Clears OK, and no problem with any wheel speed sensors etc either and car drives fine.

Any ideas from BMS support? Really appreciated. Sounds a like a bug?

Cruise Control doesn't work again either - definitely JB4 related.
Found out having a 135i 07 that with MHD BEF its based on a 335i and kills the cruise which is shame. But least know the answer!

Happy to have the JB4 + MHD BEF on the Hybrids though. Its a weapon!

Thanks for the reply.

Just a standard JB4 G5 ISO approx 3 years old just BMS USB Cable fitted nothing else to my knowledge.

Installed when got the car from previous owner.
Had the code then intermittant. Removed JB4 and wiring etc. and codes gone and ran flash only. No problem.

Since put JB4 back on (missed JB4!) and its back again annoyingly. It’s intermittent. EML will stay lit and needs clearing to remove. No other codes.

Just disabled the Needle Sweep function this evening thinking maybe thats doing something - haven't had it back on yet but have done about 10-20miles since. But will report back.

Can get a picture for you shortly though. Appreciate the help!

(Had to check what SLD Wire stood for! Im sure thats not fitted. Green ones on the red loom? will double check that also and come back to you!)

So got the ECU cover off and see attached photos - not sure if need any more at all Terry?

Looking at the red cable loom does seem to be a green and red wire tapped in via the USB Cable - would this be the SLD wire causing the issue?

Or is something else a miss!

UPDATE - Removed 2 wires from the USB pictured.

(These are the SLD Wires - didnt know what this were had to research!)

Now removed and code has gone. Thanks again for pointing in right direction Terry.
