Alpina and N63tu both have smaller wheels, and flow less than our upgrades.

Are you gonna try higher psi? I'm curious what it can handle with the meth. My meth system is in the mail.

The stage 1 are larger than stock m5? So how much more fuel does the n63 have?

What JB4 settings are you running to reach 25psi? While a different vehicle, anything above 21psi in my X5M and it falls on its face with overboost errors. Terry said the X5M already comes with 3.5 bar TMAP sensors, I'm already running the "F-series Engine Type" settings so I'm at a loss here.

How's the motor holding up at these power levels? Strongly considering getting rid of my 335 for one of these if I can reliably make 600whp.

M5, I run between 23.5 and 24 psi withe the right fuel. Haven’t tried higher cause I am starting to run lean with trims maxed out. All map 6 no special settings. Just ramping the boost up to 4000, leveling out thru 5500, then tailing down a bit to redline.

Using FOL at 90. I get a drivetrain error but this error does not reduce power so I just ignore it and clear it later. I presume this is a high fuel pressure warning.

I run new TMAP sensors, one step cooler plugs gapped to 0.022.

I may try to go higher boost now that weather has cooled.

Byebye. My N63 has been great. Bought it new in 2012 so I had the customer service updates but I never experienced any problems. I have seen a number of N63s opened up and every one of them had a bunch of sludge build up due to oil failure. Made for lots of replacement long blocks and valve seals. BMW did oil changes at 15,000 miles. This was way too long for an engine with top mount turbos. They might have gotten away with it if they were using Amsoil or royal purple. They were using Castrol. I have always done my oil changes at 5000, so no problems.

In 2014 they lowered oil change intervals down to 10000 miles and changed to a synthetic from Chevron labeled as BMW OIL.

I'd like to see a screenshot of your map 6 settings before you go.
Thanks for your input over the years. What are you getting next?

Current settings. Map 6 is additive, not absolute.

Exactly my thoughts Mike. I like how no one addressed your questions. /s

No idea.

It's not, as you can see it on a 2wd dyno in the pic in post #1.

3. 6 speed or 8 speed?
8 spd

Yes it's more possible with a TU. The JB4 has even better tuning capabilities with the newer TU engines.

Any updates on how big power N63TUs are holding up? Loving my 50i with BM3 and JB4 in map 1. I have 3.5 bar maps ready to go in. Also interested in Pure turbos, but not much info on how these motors hold up...

I'm more interested in how the pistons and rods hold up. Cams don't break with more power.

On TU motors rods & pistons are the same as on s63tu/m5

Default High Boost N63 - 08-08-2019, 06:27 PM

Guys I have one question, How are youíll doing for the transmission??! I see some are doing 24-25 and even higher boost. Iím currently stuck on 17-18 with pure stge2 + meth, etc. Full back end flash and separate meth controller, it feels strong but I havenít been able to go beyond 17-18 on boost without throwing high torque error codes from TCU. Can someone please advise? Maybe Iím missing something!
