Default Who has a custom 3.5" exhaust or planning on it? - 04-27-2017, 11:43 AM

I am looking to run a 3.5" exhaust on my car.

We know the downps are 3" then taper to 2.5" to meet the stock exhaust piping. I want to cut off the ends of the downps to taper UP to 3.5"

Then run a single pipe down the middle 3.5" then break off into two for dual tips.

Most likely going to run a muffler. I don't like the muffler delete rasp sound. I have resonators now. I was thinking of running just two resonators, or 1 muffler in the middle of the car. a 14" round magnaflow for instance.

Anyone have any ideas on this?

similar to the vrsf one but with two mufflers or two resonators instead of the one muffler

I wonder how much of a restriction the 2.5" collectors at the end of the downps really make.

if any...

I'm really curious how much of a restriction the stock piping really is.... I have the stock exhaust on my ST car, except i deleted the main resonator, deleted scondary cats, and modified the stock mufflers, and at 5300ft elevation I'm out spooling my tuner's car at less then half the elevation, and I'm pretty sure he has an upgraded exhaust.

You're probably better off making a y pipe that connects to the *********, that way you aren't cutting aftermarket *********.

We did exactly this to my dads Wagon. He gets complements all the time that it sounds like a tuned GTR, completely different than any other N54 that I have heard.

Downps are now two pieces each with vbands and cut off reducer.

Straight Pipe added.

Muffler Can be added in place of straight pipe in under 10min
