Default Break pads suggestion for e92 335xi - 09-22-2016, 08:29 AM

Hi, I am looking for the brake pads for the e92 335xi.
I don't track and it is weekend car. Will be put on new R1 Eline drilled and slotted discs. My car is fbo and I am thinking of to upgrade to RB turbo and inlet next year.

I have read some of the review and have difficulty to pick the best from the below four:

akebono - almost none break dust, little less initial bite than Stock. Same stopping power compare with stock.
Hawk Street 5.0 - little break dust than stock, better stopping power than stock. higher price
Stoptech - same break dust as stock, cheaper price, average stopping power.
EBC redstuff - same break dust as stock, higher price. better stopping power than stock.

Please share your comment. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I am more toward to the Hawk 5.0 but I heard it may not fit for e92 xi.
Thank you so much,

I like cool carbons. I am not currently running them at the moment, but they are great pads.

Thanks, How's the brake dust on Stoptech? Is it really the same level as stock?
How's the initial bite and stopping power?

Thanks,

A bit better than stock in terms of stopping power. I wash my wheels often so brake dust has never been an issue for me.

I like akebono pads, I have used them on a couple of my cars and I think they work great. Pretty much no dust and the bite may be slightly less than stock which hasn't been an issue for me. They last a very long time and do not wear the rotors like the stock ones do.

I have had the full stoptech stage 2 brake kit for a full year now. The pad do release a brown dust over time but nothing a wash would handle. The initial bite is okay but once they warm up a little they are fantastic! Really strong brakes overall. I would recommend the full kit if you're looking for good overall brakes because the upgraded lines allow for a stronger initial bite.
