Additional comments... Although the Rom was not 98g0b or 98g1b it took zusb 8661926 under MEVD1726 and it had mean burples; however it went into limp mode with a check engine light that could not be clear by recoding the 63BMO, INPA or JB4. I had to revert back to zusb 8661886. Anybody have a fix?

P. S. When I went back to MEVD1726/8661886, it cleared the check engine.... And the burpling.

Hey guys, need a little help here...
According to INPA my current zusb is 8615778 (8G0B). I have datens v58.2. This isn't going to work is it? I'm led to believe I'll need older datens to perform this flash.
What zusb should I be flashing if that's my current?

TIA

I'd recommend you work of datens 55.

Your stock zsub in these would be 8639122 and your PPK is as per Hanswurst table in post 1.

I'd also check when you last had a dealer update. Hanswaurst posted "Don't flash if your car is after 2013 or got Update by Dealer after 07/2012!" and, on a 135i 2010, 8615778 would not be the original flash.

Not sure of the implications of this as mine was never updated but just something to be aware of.

I've just downloaded v55 datens, and yes, mine was updated in 2013. Is there any other way to flash? or possibly roll back so that it is flashable without the additional warning from Hanswurst?

Like I put above, never had this issue myself so have always been able to follow the usual 'comfort' mode process. There are some others on here who've had dealer updates and either successfully flashed PPK and / or moved back from 98G1B to 98G0B so probably best to wait for one of them to chime in.

Ahh fair enough, well mine still seems to run on 98G0B, it's tempting to give it a shot :D

Great news. Did you have to do anything different / special given your 2013 dealer update?

Indeed! I didn't have to do anything different, literally just loaded it up in WinKFP and crossed my fingers, hit program and waited anxiously! I've got screenshots from INPA pre-flash if you're interested in any differences.

Sounds good - not sure though why there's that warning in the first post.

I'm guessing in the INPA UIF it showed 8615778 with a dealer date of x/y/2013?

Had my car updated by the dealer last year in May. PPK was flashed a month later without a problem.

Car was 98G0B and now I'm on 98D0B PPK. According to my sources, you can just flash the correct, older ZUSB.

Could you post the zsub for the 98D0B PPK flash?

Hmmmm... in V55 daten

The 98G0B version of 7635160 is 8639188 which uses 0da 8639189.
The 98G0B for our cars suggested by Hanswurst in the first post is 8647154 which uses 0da 8647153.

I expected these to be pretty much the same but they are quite different?

At least that's the ZUSB which is displayed in INPA UIF.

And it better be the correct one, since the COBB AP relys on it AFAIK. ^^

Was your PPK flashed by the dealer or did you flash it yourself/someone else?

Hello new to the forum as I am interested in doing the PPK flash for my vehicle.

I've gone through most of the stuff posted in the thread but I can't seem to find a definitive answer for my questions... or maybe just cause its already 2am here as I'm typing this...

So i noticed that everyone is stressing the fact that they would like to flash with the 8G0B ROM of the PPK, or in my case (8639128).. Is there any reason for that, as from what I'm getting is that they just want this level of ROM so that they can retain their COBB flashes..

That being said, could I just flash the 8G1B version of the PPK which has a ZUSB of (8666660):

Quote:
8639128,8666660,01,MV
since my car was updated in Nov of 2015 with 8666612 as I don't really care for the COBB or JB4

So is it safe to assume that you just straight flashed the 8D0B ROM of PPK directly or did you downgrade the ROM version() to the respective ZUSB that your 8G0B superseded first then do the PPK flash?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK the 98D0B PPK ROM was flashed directly over my then current ROM. Maybe someone can chime in and elaborate some more...

ZB number(s) 8661886 and 8661926 (PPK) are both recent 9EI0B ROMs. The 9EI0B PPK most likely caused the CEL because it needs a FSC code.

ZB number 8651808 as specified in post #1 is a 9EH0B PPK. Downgrading from 9EI0B to 9EH0B with WinKFP expert mode should solve your issue.

Flashed the PPK onto a 07/10 build date 135i last Saturday. Thanks to HansWurst for making this known, and keyap for answering all my questions.

Flash took less than 3 minutes, thought it did not work, got a error for brake-by-wire failure on the iDrive, but coded a clear .MAN file to 63BMO module and cleared the error codes and after 200 miles on Sunday all seems fine. Love the burbles from the exhaust on throttle lift, but more importantly got rid of the throttle dead spot when pulling away with DCT.

Thanks again.

KJ

Do Not Flash The PPK If Your Car Has Had A Dealer Software Update After 07/2012

Hanswurst put something like this is the first post and I'm not sure everyone, including me, understands exactly what it means as some people with some updates appear to be OK whereas others have problems? I'm wondering if it could relate to the vehicle's i-Level? This is possibly why some people who've had BMW updates are having problems and / or need a FSC code.

I've added below a PDF below showing how to check your i_Level using tool32. Mine is E89X-11-03-510 and I can flash using the page 1 quoted zsubs without a problem. (E89X is the chassis code, 11 is the year so 2011, 03 is the month so March and 510 is the version)

Hmmm. Strange, not sure what Hanswurst would mean then by a 07/2012 software update?
