Default Does the mhd back end flash stop the c a t monitor from showing - 08-24-2020, 08:10 PM

I’m try to smog my car. I have the jb4 with the off the shelf mhd back end flash for E85/hybrid turbos. I also installed the vrsf o2 fix. I have been driving the car on map zero for a long time and it keeps on showing the c a t Is incomplete. The car does not even throw any codes. What gives??

The only thing I can think of is the back end flash turns off the monitor for the c a t? Is this true? I assume if this is true I just need to flash the car back to the stock flash?

When flashing with MHD, 'OEM/catted D Ps' must be checked for catalyst readiness to set. I believe flashing MHD back to stock would work as well.

Before I flash back to stock Do I have to take out my 3.5 bar map sensor and reinstall the oem 2.5 bar map sensor? Right not I’m running my jb4 on map 0 with the back end flash and it runs fine with the 3.5 bar map sensor.

You should be able to change the jb4 settings of the 3.5 bar back to stock which is input 0 instead of 1. If not, change your sensor back to stock.

I can now confirm that you cannot get the c a t monitor to show ready in order to smog the car when you run the jb4 mhd back end flash. I flashed the car to stock and set the jb4 to map 0 and had to install the stock 2.5bar map sensor and the c a t monitor became ready with in 10 miles of driving.

so in conclusion in order to pass California smog besides the visual test. The car must be on the stock flash and jb4 must be on map 0. You must be useing the stock 2.5 bar map sensor. There must be no check engine light and all the monitors must show ready or some can say not available. Monitors cannot show incomplete or fail.

Maybe im not understanding since I dont have Jb4, but you can flash to Stock 0 and tick the 3.5bar sensor in MHD. This allows you to keep the sensor and show readiness.

I was able to pass with DP fix and 3.5bar still installed
