When you go to flash, I believe it allows you to select which version you want to flash. Haven't tried to flash back to older maps since I installed but I have read that others have. It would be best to contact Clemens and let him know of the problem so they can resolve it quicker.

I've been on Stage 3 v1.3 for a few months and updated to v1.4 on Saturday. It was my (mis)understanding that we're supposed to leave it in D mode and drive gently with lots of coasting for ~50 miles before trying out S mode. This helps to ensure proper adaptations.

With the stock map no codes and no problems , I never saw an option to flash to an older version just V1.4 . And I forgot I had to drive easy in D mode for 50 Miles, but could that cause the problem. I'm wondering if this is a 5 series issue I also have had that slight shutter at 1500 to 2000 RPMs I think I was going from 2nd to 3rd gear. I just read about that several posts back.

That might have been the issue. Maybe there was excessive slip or something else that cause the code because it wasn't fully adapted. I would suggest reinstalling v1.4 and just take it easy for a little bit. If after it's adapted and you throw the code again, then you should post or reach out to Clemens to work out the bug.

Okay thanks, maybe I'll flash 1.4 again and let it adapt . Looks like this wasn't just an update they re wrote the hole map so it does require adaption. I still can't figure out how to flash back to a previous version.

So just to be clear, everyone who downloaded Stage 3 v1.4 prior to today needs to re-download and reflash?
Thank you.

so for someone with the Aplina flash already, what benefits does this flash offer that? is drive mode any different?

my transmission didnt shift as i hit redline the other day, and went into limp mode with a transmission error message on the idrive. I'm wondering if this could help with whatever is going on with my transmission slipping..

It's different everywhere.

I'm probably the false one, as I'm biased, but just look in the app-store or facebook reviews. You will find plenty of comments on xHP vs. Alpina.

It's in the xHP Flashtool folder on the device. Use a file browser to navigate there.

No, because that is different, depending on your phone. Copying files is a generic thing...that has nothing to do with xHP.

Maybe download an app like "File Commander" if you don't have a file browser on your phone yet.

Introducing the xHP Trackday - Setup!

Available for E-Series 135i/335i/535i the Trackday Setup (Stage 4) tailores the transmissions S-mode to be used on the Race Track! Drivers won't have to concentrate on shifting, but can fully focus on braking and cornering. The transmission will shift close to how an experienced driver would shift with a manual transmission and keep you in the optimal rev-range and balance at all times.

This setup can be used on any race track, as it deletes a lot of the transmissions driver type calculation functions and shift programs, which are useful during street use, but get in the way on the track.

Map description:
- S Mode shift program adapted to full race track use
- Drivertype calculation and adaptive shift programs disabled
- Adjustable shift RPM between 6000 and 7000 rpm (through kickdown switch)
- Shift inhibit during lateral-G up to 6800 rpm
- Shifts altered for speed & keeping the car in balance under hard cornering

Test car setup:
335i xDrive N55 6-Speed Auto Transmission (Steptronic, 6HP21)
xHP Stage 4 Race Track Flash (90% done on video)
MHD Stage 1+

Is anyone else having a delay between 1st-2nd wot shifts? I’m not sure if it’s the tcu or the ecu. It seems like it doesn’t like the torque value.

This flash WORKS. I had an issue from 3rd to 4th slip. Installed zip kit and all was good (on Alpina flash). This was at 435 /470. Then I squeezed a little more out. 460/490. 4th to 5th would slip. Although I had the slipping issue, I upgraded in power as my front turbo had took a ****. Right after that I installed the very 1st version of xHP. No difference. Same slip. I figured Ill just deal with the trans somewhere down the line as I dont always go WOT from 4th to 5th. Fast forward to 1.4 that I installed. Never pushed the car WOT from 4th to 5th (figured I just needed trans work)....until yesterday. Ran a e92 To my surprise it did NOT slip. Pulled all the way through. Only thing done was xHP, and keep in mind at a higher power level than before.

Did you also change ur valvebody solenoids when you did the zip kit..?

I've been on the Alpina B3 flash for like 3 years, and recently my car has developed a slight jerk/bump in RPM's when shifting from 3rd to 4th, and also if I'm cruising around 70mph on the highway in 5th gear (M5) and go WOT, it often kicks me out of M5 and the trans acts kinda weird until I shift to D and then back to S/M mode and it acts normal again.. I'm thinking it's my solenoids but once I get that all taken care of, I plan on giving xHP another shot as I feel the Alpina may be better for lower HP cars and I'm up around 450whp/500wtq.

I've used the Alpina B3 Flash for 3 years as well prior to switching to xHP. I'm so glad that I did because the shifts are much improved.
