Default Aem controller for water meth injection wiring help - 02-10-2020, 01:28 PM

So I at a loss on where the green fail safe wire goes? Anyone have experience with installing this on a 335i. It's the aem 30-3305 controller. Definitely want the safety feature!

Did you purchase the fail safe hardware? Gauge etc?

Can’t use it without extensive integration into DME via piggy back.

It supplies a 12V signal when an error arises or the tank goes empty. Meant to run this wire on the boost controller solenoid on a conventional wastegate system which is boost referenced. Doesn’t work with N54s since we’re vacuum referenced and PWM controlled.

The JB4 sounds so much easier already

This is on point. You'll need to perform quite a bit of engineering to install a fail-safe mechanism with AEM. If youre tuning with meth injection dependency, then the better path is jb4 plus their WMI injection system. You can much more easily integrate their WMI its part of the setup, no engineering.

If its for charge cooling and octane boost, i wouldnt bother with failsafe, again thats for a tune that isnt dependent on WMI.

I will be installing aem v2 myself by months end, tune is staying the same, my goal is charge cooling, maximize timing and octane boost. Will switch to jb4 and burger WMI when i go big turbo.
