Hello,

I hope this is the correct place to post.

I have a 2013 M5 and just installed the JB4. In all the instructions I found for the settings it talks about certain settings for firmware that ends with /3 or /4. Mine ends with /5 and can't seem to find anything about settings that it requires.

I also updated the firmware to the latest 1.4c, that I found on the board. Can't seem to remember where though.

Am I missing something?

//Edit, and looks like Ando just replied back saying the JB4 doesn't need settings adjustment.

its plugged in plus has full charge. The interface says 1/1/16 but the firmware is blank and unless im not looking in the right place I cant find the firmware that works or is for the S63tu. This firmware stuff shouldnt be this tedious considering it only took 30 mins to hook up under the hood.

Default old software - 04-19-2016, 08:04 AM

Hey Terry,

I'm running the old (before 1/15) software on the n63 stage one tune. I cant find the link to download that software. Could you provide me with it? I had it on my old computer and no longer have it.

The very old Stage1 interface was removed awhile ago to avoid confusion. I don't know that we even have a copy anymore. Contact sales to upgrade to a current board if needed.

Then it has the previous firmware where you change the FUD setting to 1.

Hey Guys!

So, its been a long time coming but I finally traded in my 2007 335i for a 2013 X5 xdrive50i (02/2013 build). I freaking love it so far but you know why I'm here....

I know this year is a bit on the tipping point of N63 or N63tu, would anyone know which my X5 might have?

Does the N63 Stage 1 tune work for the 2013 X5 xdrive50i N63 or N63tu? I hope I'm not beating a dead horse here but no one talks about X5, which is kind of a bummer but understood. Thanks in advance!

First I would like to say how awesome the JB4 is on my f30 335.
Now the bad....
for the pockets
My wife felt the difference in power that it gave and wants to tune here 2012 X5M. Is the only option the JB Stg1 or can the JB4 for the s63tu be used on the s63? If so is there limited functionality or is it the same as in my f30?

I appologize if this has been aswered before, but I have searched and lurked he for a while and have not been able to find the answer.

Thanks!

The s63 JB4 is also compatible with the X5M. For 2012 models you may need a special harness type A so send in TMAP photos so Ando can verify before you order.

Hey there,

Asked this question in your other thread, but didn't get a reply. I have a 2011 550XI and I'm very interested in your JB4 setup, but curious if you know if it will stack safely with a Dinan stage 4 tune. Looks like the JB4 will have a good dose more power output, even on just 92/93 octane. The stage 4 is rated at 506/580 crank, and I'm guessing that on 93 your JB4 might approach that at the wheels?

Curious as to any thoughts you have on it, as I'd be eager to buy .

No idea on that. Is that a DME flash or a piggyback for the n63?

Terry,

Will the N63 JB4 work on a 2009 750i (CY34162)? How about BCM? Ando says Stage 1 only but I'm still confused or in denial by what folks are reporting here and the compatibly list on the websites.

Hey what's up Terry. I have a 2015 M5 that has been running the stage 1 at the recommended 3.0 boost setting with no problems until recently. A couple of weeks ago I took the car to the Autoclub Speedway and it performed like a champ. No problems. A week later, after a cold start, I get a drive train malfunction and CEL error. The DTM eventually went away after about a day's worth of driving. The CEL remained. I purchased an OBDII reader from amazon and did a scan of the codes. The reader gave me back a code of P12B7 in the $07EA category/group. I researched this code and couldn't find anything. I eventually cleared the code. And about 3 days later it came back again.

What's my next move here? I'm thinking of uninstalling the tune and checking to see if the error comes up again. I'm also due for a servicing so I could take the car in and have them check out the DTM error. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Terry,

The JB Stage 1 boxes marked with N63-2 have the G3_V2 board w/latest firmware with the factory default boost setting at +3.0 correct??

Also, What plugs into the other side of the control box?

BiTurbo

A DB9 to usb cable plugs into the other side of the JB S1. This is the laptop connection to the JB software that runs under Windows.

It looks like you must have a used unit? since BMS normally supplies the cable with the purchase of the box.

I can't remember the default boost, but if its a used unit, it may have been reset to other settings. need to get a cable and load the Windows software to confirm.

also, your pic seems to show two sets of TMAP connector cables. One type A and the other type B but its difficult to tell for sure from the pic. You will only use one of these depending on which connectors your car has.
