Default F Series JB4 Map Switch Upgrade - 10-20-2014, 02:01 PM

Hey guys,

I've worked up a new map switch logic for F series cars that allows you to select from multiple maps from the drivers seat instead of just on and off. In addition to being more convenient I'm hoping everyone will find the change more intuitive to use. Like the previous version the shifter light flash is for automatics only. Manuals can use the same process but will not have any flashing light feedback.

I've started incorporating the change in to all F series firmware. But I need a few testers. If you have time to help test it out just email me your firmware version and I'll reply back with the revision.

Here is a video showing the new process:

Hi Terry.

My name is Rafael, I'm from Brazil.

I'm currently running a 2014 F22 BMW M235i with JB4 Map 2 & BMS Intake.

I'd be willing to test the new steering wheel funcionalities. The firmware I'm using right now is: N55_FSERIES_EWG_2_8_2.hex

Yours,
Rafael.

This is great, Terry.

What's the primary reason why this process is different on the F30 vs. E90? Map selection on the E90s is pretty slick interfaced with the gauges...is that off the table due to major differences or is that a work in progress?

We don't have the F series dash commands and so far have been unable to source them. If we ever are then we'll switch over to the E series dash logic.

Good evening!
Ive tried the new firmware "N20_JB4_FSERIES_EWG_5.hex" for N20 cars today.
It seems everything works as it should.
It is really nice to choose between different maps without using the PC.

Only thing:
Im not a big fan of using "volume down button".
If another person uses this car and he/she wants to make music quiet for different cases, the jb4 goes on map 0 and later a check engine light comes up because of cutlass dwnp1pe :-(

Bye

Sorry it's volume or nothing for now. We don't have the commands for any other button other than the phone/talk button and it would be more annoying to have it redial the last person you spoke too when changing maps.
