Thought I would bump this thread.

Since installing the bypass, I've noticed consistently cooler oil temps (duh!). On a hot day even with some aggressive driving, it's hard to get the oil temps above 230. Most of the time, the temps are around 210.

A couple of us are discussing on another BMW board whether reduced oil temps will worsen carbon buildup in the N54 engine. It's an interesting question and one I thought I would pose here. Searches (Goggle and here) did not reveal much of anything. I'd love to hear some thoughts from people in the know.

Interested in this as well, but have found nothing to point one direction or the other.

Oil was pretty fresh using Mobil 1 0w-40.
At the end of session oil temp was 265-275.

Street temps seem to always be around 200-240 depending on outside temps.

This t-stat delete does help trust me. I put my OEM t-stat back in couple days ago since outside te mmm p are getting colder at night and I can tell that the oil temp warms up so much quicker to 240 and stays there. Good mod. Go for it.
This is great news. And all that without meth. Wow. No need for bigger oil cooler when running e85 mix with meth on the track
