Hows the power compared to JB3 though? Just as strong? or less but smoother ride? or both? or just gotta feel it? lol. Sorry I cant wait to try this out myself and see what it can do with my car and mods!

Testing lower boost at the moment, so not massively cranked up yet. The power delivery is flawless though.

Like Irish said. Very smooth and very crisp. I imagine the end result will be a safer tune that provides more useable power. This tune has more information to use and rely on, thus allowing for a better tune in general.

Irish... I know that you are already testing the "secret" map.

I can second that! this thing is nice!.... haven't really had a chance to open her up but the short burst I've been able to do feel great!...
Now I got to figure out why I have no power to my CMGS! Too dark to continue today will resume trouble shooting tomorrow.

Great job on the JB4 Terry! Cant wait for Saturday!

How will this work with progressive meth ? Is it possible to adjust to what max psi to autotune like on procede ?

Terry, will users of the CMGS be able to run the older 1.06 firmware with the JB4 meth mapswitching and flow sensing, or will the latest CMGS firmware (1.07?) be necessary. I ask, because I'm installing the JB4 tomorrow and I want to have my failsafe map switching configured properly. Something tells me that the voltage output won't scale with flow with the 1.06 firmware.

We need a new diagram posted perhaps for the JB4-CMGS/VC2 meth signal wiring.

The progressive meth control is pretty cool. Will do a post on it next week sometime.

First, you paypal $150 to terry@burgertuning.com to unlock the feature (kidding). Then you need to feed a voltage signal based on flow in to the JB4. Most sensors like the CMGS/VC2 we support output .1v per 100ml/min. Then you tell the JB4 how much boost over the 13psi failsafe map you want per 100ml/min. Say .75psi/100ml/min up to a maximum of say 17psi (user defined). The JB4 then smoothly and progressively raises boost per the meth flow input. If you go over 2000ml/min it triggers an overflow condition and reverts to the failsafe mapping in case a line comes off, etc. Coming up next we'll have the JB4 evaluate the timing automatically while on meth so it can tell you how much ml/min is required per each additional PSI of boost and dial itself in accordingly.

As I understand it the 1.07 is required. It uses the same CMGS orange wire in to spot #25 on the JB connector. If you have one of the first batch of alpha boards you also need to add a ~20k resistor in line to protect the JB4 from potential power surges as the CMGS kicks on. Added it to the board for the second alpha batch.

Just working on the non-secret maps right now. So damn happy I can log meth flow and timing. So friggen sweet the jb4 is.

Yes the new logging channels are super awesome and @ 10hz and rival anything else out there. They stuff their CSV @ 30hz but the important data is only being updated @ 10hz as it's about the maximum CAN sample rate out of the ECU. There are many more channels on the back end not in the interface yet too.

When time permits shoot some logs over and we'll get the progressive meth turned on!

That will actually will optimize the use of meth injection and ultimately save us time and money. Thanks!
