Default Fuel wires on 91 octane at elevation - 01-12-2020, 09:10 PM

Im going to be installing my jb4 in a week or so when it comes in the mail. I've heard in a few places not to run fuel wires on 91. But I've read on another forum that elevation can be a factor. I live in Denver, does anyone have any advice on whether or not I should install them when it comes?

Leave them off. Fuel wires are used to lean out the AFR at high RPM WOT conditions, and typically when using an E blended fuel. I've stopped using them on 93

I was wondering about this too. So if we aren't running e85 blended fuel, turn them off? but once we do put some E85 in, turn them back on?

I have them enabled on 93, been also thinking about disabling them. Did you notice any difference in HP/TQ with them disabled on 93?

We run them on 91 octane, it just depends what you're looking to do with the tuning. Once installed it's easy to disable them in the app if desired and the programming for fuel control adjusts the fuel based on a desired AFR target, so you don't need to worry much about running too lean.

I haven't really had any issues with them enabled, but I was more concerned with knock.
