Default Log Help Please Terry - 04-29-2021, 09:41 AM

I think I'm seeing issues but to be honest I'm out of my depth..

Please can you take a look at these logs. Newer one is without ECU Tune and older one is with it.

Only using MAP0 with fuel and EWG wires disconnected.

Thanks Terry

I just updated firmware from v17 to v22.....is DWP settings on JB4 referring to Default Wastegate Pos? I'll try setting to 60 for now, if that's what this is?

Default More 13 second passes - 04-30-2021, 03:32 AM

And the beat goes on -

Another trip to NoCal for the Forte GT resulted in more 13 second passes.

Unfortunately my first pass I didn't enable Sport Mode. But it still ran 14.007@102.07

Pass right after that = 13.82@103.16 Sport Mode enabled of course.

Again I got my best run after the car cooled down = 13.77@103.47

Compared to my best Map 3, E30 only run was 13.75@101.9 but I did run 102.12 which ironically was the first pass that outing.

The tenth + from WMI is keeping me in the 13's despite slightly slower 60ft times.

Last pass of the night was about as close to a back to back as I got (15-20 mins between runs). I tried a slightly lower launch RPM. The 60ft was better by a tiny bit but less energy into the rotating assembly meant the inertia wasn't there to run 103+ again so it ran 102.35.

13.800@102.35

The main difference between two weeks ago and last night was much warmer ambient temps peaking at 90 degrees at 4 pm when the track opened.

It was still in the 80's when I ran 13.77, only .02 off my best ET but 1.52 mph gain or about 15 whp with WMI and slower 60ft (2.11 vs 2.07)

Same boost levels as Map 3 (Boost Additive 60).

I am going to head back out this weekend. Based on current forecast it looks like Sunday will be best with a peak temp of 83 degrees. With WMI I am not worried about hot weather but traction tends to be worse. That is mainly a problem for vehicles which much more power than I'm making currently. That said I already have a traction problem even with drag radials so we'll just have to see.

All the runs but the last two are at 17 psi and I didn't know it. I checked the pressure before I left the house. Burnouts had increased it to 17 psi from 15 psi cold.

I took out a pound each time after the first couple of runs. I was wondering why my 60ft where 2.1x instead of improving as the track rubbered in.

The last run it was 16 psi but I launched at a lower RPM.

Not great, I am working on driving the 60fts down. I expect the prep at Famoso will be better.

If you're talking about fouler on o2 sensors that is an awful idea. If they are on the primary sensors they need to be removed ASAP. Rear o2 sensors not as big of a deal but not useful usually.

Also to look at logs they need to be set to combine so it's just one file. I opened a couple there and didn't see much. Are JB4 EWG connectors installed? For over speed those are usually used to slow down turbine speed.

If Burger Motorsports told you it would work it will work. This forum is also used for technical support by Burger Motorsports the answer will be the same.

As I understand it the "Smart stream" engine is basically the same but has continuous valve duration and a .5 reduction in static compression ratio.

Why is an awful idea though? Combine as in 1 hour or other hours? No, do not have the EWG connectors. Not having is likely what's putting into limp mode?
Thanks

People run defoulers because they are trying to trick the powertrain module (engine computer) that you are running no catalyst which is highly illegal, but you think you need that 10-15 hp they provide as proof of a restriction.

Also your contribution to things like clean air and the RPM Act is a small thing in the sea of others modifying cars or so you think. I get a kick out of people that freely admit to wrongdoing.

The JB4 is not a PCM flash that is reprogrammed to ignore error codes from no catalyst that are generated otherwise.

For the JB4 to work properly you need the 02 sensors to behave as normal.

There are better ways to gain a tenth or so of a second which is what 10-15 hp is.

If you have an over boost issue get EWG connectors installed so we can dial in WGDC.

Foulers throw off the o2 sensor readings which the ECU is using to control fuel injection.

Isn't that sort of bland, you didn't mention a specific connector?

There are only two, Map sensor on the intake manifold and the Map/Tip on the charge pipe connected to the throttle body.

There might be slight differences with the newer engine as they have to update the harness for the 2021 vehicles.

Best thing is to contact support, take pictures and explain your problem clearly.
