RB Next Gen Plus Log Review -
04-01-2019, 08:34 AM
I did a couple changes over the weekend, and logged. How does everything look? How do I smooth out this choppy WGDC? This is MAP 2, I would like to get this smoothed out before trying Map 6 with the values from the Hybrid turbo thread.
Changes made before log:
New NGK 1 step colder plugs gapped at .022"
Fuel it Stage II bucketless pump
Holley Hydromat fuel pickup
oil change
Mods to car: (2010 135i N54 Manual)
MHD Hybrid back end flash/w JB4
RB Next Gen + turbos
RB inlets
BMS intake
VRSF intercooler
AR *********
Magnaflow catback
M factory LW flywheel w/ Spec stage 2+ clutch
Charge pipe w/tial BOV
3.5 bar map sensor
thanks!

Whoa! You are way over target- lower your boost safety to 20-21 for now.
Let’s set your DB to 50 for now across the board

I moved DB to 50 across the board, and set boost safety to 21.
Thanks for the feedback, here are a few more logs.

Otherwise logs look okay- a few timing drops on cyl 5, but 5 does happen to be the noisiest cyl in general .
Take 2-3 WOT adaption pulls & relog

Car feels smooth with a nice power delivery.
What do I want to do? Can my setup support 19.5-20psi on map 6? I am wanting to see what I can get out of the current mods. With 93 octane.
I plan to add port meth this summer. Either using PHX intake or plate injection. And push towards 25-26psi and try out one of the half mile racing events near me.

Just 93 octane? Or keeping fuel as is now (believe you have a little blend).
We can try it, if you want to jump up to map 7- that targets 19 psi if memory serves me correctly - take a few adaptation pulls & log, we can see what timing looks like

The car was showing 30ish miles till empty, so I topped the tank off with BP 93 octane and switched from map 2 to map 7 and did 3 adaptation pulls before the below logs.
The car pulls pretty hard now. How are the logs?

If you look your ign_1- you’ll see the drop in timing from 6.x down to 3.x mid pull- we don’t want that + the drops on multiple cylinders.
Couple options- we lower boost (via map 6)
Or you can add in some e85.

Thread is a couple of months old but this looks way down on power to me.
Only saying because I'm looking for some reviews on RB next gens with a view to getting some RB TWO's plus's. I bought a meth kit in the interim and was putting down 358WHP with FBO + inlets. Am now putting down 401WHP with the additional meth (99ron NO E85) . I thought these were good for upwards of 500?
Logged your csv's on virtual dyno and coming up with ~375whp (I took the 3rd gear portion of the 3rd and 4th pull).
I'd say some tuning is in order as I don't doubt the turbos.
