Nice result from our Australian JB1 user Danny. 12.1@114.6mph. Mods are VWR600, APR turbo outlet on stock wheel setup. Map 1 with some ethanol was used. The exit shows the power the JB1 can produce. Car is a 206kw version.

Nice result on this 206kw version 7R DSG with a 11.9@113mph. Car ran **, intake and semi slick tires with stock weight. Temps where 102F so exit suffered a bit on the day and I guess times to a certain level.

Well done to our 7R Burger Tuning JB1 user cupersteve running a 11.7@114 at Sacramento yesterday on 91+meth, JB1 piggy back, **, intake and cooler. Michellin PSS street tires where used. The car run full stock interior. Car showed major consistency with the car being hot lapped with no cooling allowed.

Its a pity the day was cut short as he was heading in the right direction for a better time and close to the limit of what the JB1 can give in the street trim he was in. As always we keeping our policy of customers producing the results and not us going out and running the "magic time".

A great analysis of his day at the drags can be found here: http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthrea...-793-114-69mph

Some heart breaker Mustang 4wd results on this JB1 powered Golf 7R. Power is at the wheels. Map 0 is stock boost power with the bolt ons. Map 1 shows two different boost add settings. Fuel used is approximately 93US.

Some nice results on this S3 with JB1+drop in filter running 91 with some octane booster. Average baseline on this dyno is 272whp. Car pushed 317whp on two consecutive runs showing average delta of 45whp. Measurements where done on front wheels with map 1 and +5.2.

Well done to JB1 user David. He went out with his 7R in street trim full weight with a ** and intake using a E85 mix and nearly got the exit speed record for a 7R. Major traction issues with a bad 60ft killed the time but I am sure he will go back prepared.

Some nice gains on the 206kw/280hp version of the 7R. Wheel gains are 59whp and 56ft lb. Car used 91oct with intake. Dyno is at 5600ft altitude.

Same dyno on this Audi S3 8V using map 6, note how the torque is moved up the rpm range with a less conservative spool.
Gains of 49kw & 89Nm ( 66whp and 65ft lb) at the wheels with 95 Ron/91AKI pump fuel. - Stock power with ******** (189wkw & 401Nm)
- ‪#‎JB1‬, full exhaust + intake (238wkw & 490Nm)

Got some links from a JB1 users sent to me from Sweden on his manual R powered Seat Cupra 280hp version. He really dished it out, runs are from 30mph-150mph. Map 1 was used with 5.2 and a slight ethanol mix, car has ** and intake.

Leon Cupra JB1 M6 vs BMW 1M Cobb 400whp. That's what you get if you dont JB4 your BMW.

Leon Cupra M6 vs BMW M5 E39

Leon Cupra M6 vs Golf R MK7 DSG stage 1 Flash

Leon Cupra Manual vs DSG both JB1 cars with slightly different settings. The DSG camera car ran map 6 with 5.4 that was a bit over board for his fuel so it let the manual take the win.

Some nice results on this JB1 R with ******** and intake using the default map 6. Dyno is a Maha and power is calculated at the flywheel. You can see how the low torque map setting keeps the spool in check creating a torque peak higher up in the rpm range which is great for manual clutch preservation.

Our dealer in Bahrain (Aryan Extreme) recently had a opportunity to do some back to back 91 vs 93 octane testing since they started getting 93 at the pumps soon. Car has JB1, intake and down pipe running map 1 4.8 in both runs. Dyno is 4wd dynojet.

George,

I live at ~6000ft, 0% humidity, with highs in the 95-100F. I too have been hearing the fluttering/surge between 3000-4000rpm on my DSG Golf R under high-load high-throttle conditions. I don't recall if this happened when it was cooler so I'd be interested hearing your input on a) do I need to worry about this at all b) is this phenomenon affected by temp and c) differences at high altitude.

From what I understand my turbo has to spin faster to reach the MAP target psi up here, so it is a bit surprising that it still has the flutter issue this high up given that it likely takes longer to spool up.

I adjusted map 6 to the following and was only able to completely get rid of the fluttering if I set 3000-4000 to 0. Even a setting of 1.0 would cause it. I didn't bother playing around with 2000-3000 and simply left it whatever 3000-4000 was set at. I started with a more moderate ramp at 4000 but eventually ended up just making it a step function.

Do the other flash tunes have this issue? I had a JB4 in a BMW and it didn't have this issue. Is it a turbo specific issue? Is there a bolt-on part that will mitigate it?

Thanks!

As the temperatures increase the ECU due to torque targeting increases the boost to compensate. This makes it easier for the car to surge. Its comes part and parcel with increased boost and torque levels low down. If you also recently fitted a air intake it will be much louder as the stock intake muffles the noise.
What you have used will work and you can revise once things have cooled down. At this stage with the upgraded turbo though and with the US having the latest revision it has proven not to be harmful.
The flash tunes have the same noise unless the file is considered low torque, no one really knows on their side what has been dialed out though due to so many revisions.

Well I guess this makes sense why VW actually lowered the pMax for different geography/climates. I imagine it is super difficult for the US since there's such a vast array of temperatures.

I was hoping you would say all you need to do is get a ____ and I could set it and forget it.

Another great results from a Australian Golf 7 R (206kw version). Car ran JB1, turbo back, intake and cooler on stock tires and weight. The run couldn't have gotten closer against a Stage 2 flashed R.
