Inlets outlets for RHD 135i -
07-05-2016, 05:33 AM
After much research I'm still not sure which brand to go for regarding inlets. I was swaying towards VTT till I saw a thread on another forum about how much of a PITA the fitment was and the way it's squeezed between the steering rack doesn't look too clever. Tft seem viable but an expensive option (extra elbow needed) or the new rb inlets? Anyone here got these fitted on a RHD without having major fitment concerns? I'm pushing these tiny turbos at 20psi daily and wanted to relieve them somewhat.

Fitted two set s of rb inlets.
Both on my car, fitted 1.75 inch inlets very easily.
2 inch snout was more difficult as there's no space to put the rear inlet on without loosening the manifolds first.
The silicone inlets don't go anywhere near the steering rack.
Still havnt seen any logs showing tft inlets are an improvement over the silicone types.

I had both sets of inlets from VTT and RB and I have to say the RB's are made much better and tougher. The VTT ones are very flimsy. Go with the RB's.

I have the total inlets and very very happy with the performance and the workmanship and design. Definitely the best value for money spent but other people will disagree. That's my 2 cents

I'd go RB inlets and for "outlets", I'm assuming you mean hot side charge pipe, just modify the stock item to get rid of the dents or at least the biggest one.

Apologies I meant the steering spindle. Here's a pic from someone else who tried installing VTT outlets. I'm going to play it safe and go for the RBs everyone's been raving about and wait for a true rhd outlet or go about modifying the current outlet.

Spindle is what I meant to say too.
You were talking about outlets. I was thinking inlets.
The rb rhd out let is pretty much the same as above, that is being test fitted by two ppl currently.
I wouldn't stress too much about outlets on stock turbos best to wait until rb or others gets them sorted.

What rb outlets are you referring to?
I have a set of the original rb outlets that utilise the metal rear turbo outlet pipe and you have to cut the front pipe into an elbow and bead roll it. A lot of work but it works nicely. I had both metal pieces ceramic coated and removed the squashed section of the rear turbo outlet. I'm FBO with inlets And straight pump gas with rb turbos I hit 23psi and hold 20psi to redline with 38% WGDC up top. Pretty efficient I say

I'll have a set of RHD compatible TFT inlets for sale £500.
I'm going single turbo and this will no longer be required.
I have a CF pipe which goes around the steering spindle but doesn't foul it. Its 2.5" at both ends of the 90 deg pipe.
Included will be
1, Hot side pipe work
2, 2x air filters
3, CF RHD pipe for fitment
4, 335d expantion tank and plumbing
5, 4x 90 deg reducers for 1.75" and 2" fitment
Vid of pipe custom pipe

Rb outlets I'm talking about are ones on the evo set for rhd.
38% wgdc on that much boost is less then I have on rb stealths on less boost with unsquashed hot chargepipe and inlets.
What wgdc are you reading? Bank 1 2 or base?
