How to temporarily disable s63tu stage 1? -
11-23-2015, 03:32 PM
Hi guys,
I'm trying to disable the stage 1 (complete stock mode) while I get my flash tuning done.
I know the foolproof method would be to pull the system and put the tmaps back to stock wiring, but as a method to keep the stage 1 in there for future fine tuning, what's the best way to effectively disable the stage 1?
Pulling just the box out won't work, right? I'm guessing this would make an open in the TMAP circuits?
For now I'm just putting 0.0 failsafe boost over stock in the jb4 software interface. Will this essentially tell the stage 1 to sit idle in all aspects?
Thank you!

It's a non-CANbus tune so no need to disable or do anything. Set it to map 0 if you want to prevent it from adding boost to the flash map.

Thank you Terry. After I fine tune this setup on the dyno, I'll look to add additional boost with the stage 1 for race gas. For now failsafe boost set to 0.0.

I'd upgrade it to a JB4 ASAP, so you can see what the flash tune is actually doing, via logs. They don't all work as well as they should.

Got it. Thanks Terry. I'll be ordering a jb4 for my 435i soon too. :D
