Sorry if this has been answered I could not find anything on the internet about it

What is the difference between the n54 found in the e90 vs. the e60? Realoem shows different part numbers for the same prod. dates (11000429706 for the e60 and 11000429712 for the e90) and when searching car-part.com I notice that it does not interchange 535 and 335 engines in the search results

the front differentials for xi models interchange so it cant be that

anyone know?? I bought a cheap E61 that needs an engine

I know the turbos are different since the air hoses (sheesh, can't even say p-i-p-e-s on here) come in from different points. The rear turbo for sure, I'm not 100% sure about the front one. I would doubt much else is different on them. Could look at part numbers for things like oil pans or something but I don't know what else there would be.

ahh yeah you're right the rear turbo is different and so is the oil pan. I think that limits me to another e60 engine then there is metal in the oil so I do not want to re-use the turbos

Why not a non-E60 engine with your old oil pan put on it?

Short block N54 is probably the same, long block equipment will be model specific. Those are long block part #s probsbly.
