I took the TB off and put a borescope into the two valve inlets I can shimmy my cable to. Based on those images can you tell me anything? Different banks and they look completely different.

I recently just replaced the bank 2 injectors. I have no misfire codes. But I feel like I have a small misfire going on every 5-10 seconds or so.

My car does the same thing and I replaced all injectors. I even took it to a BMW specialist and a he said its fine. I still think its misfiring though. I will be driving it more this weekend (hopefully). I will keep ya updated.

If by index you mean code them yes.

Bank 2 is running on index 12 injectors
Bank 1 has 2 index 11 and 1 index 9.

I know your not supposed to mix them, but would them being mixed cause a small misfire issue? Small enough to not throw codes?

I'd follow BMW's bulletin regarding newer style injectors to make it easier to pinpoint the problem..

Not sure if this would cause your problem...but I have read 2 threads where they say if you have index 11 then they should be 11 or higher to work correctly

I just spent 2500 on turbos and inlets. Convince my wife to speed another 400 on injectors is gonna be a tough one.

Should I spend 400 on injectors or is the carbon build up higher priority.

How many miles you have on it?

You'd be surprised at what carbon buildup can do. My car at about 70k started showing signs of misfires (random). I changed plugs/coils and it helped but the main issues stayed (slight misfire and rough idle). gradually things got worse as my valves were getting more and more gunked up. I finally did the walnut blast and WOW - everything and I mean everything cleared up. Car runs smooth as new.

Car has 126k. But I am not sure when last walnut blast was done as I just bought it.

Valves look gunked up...Get them blasted.

I hear ya! Had my car done recently at 96k...they didn't look as bad as yours but I do run meth/water so it had a slight cleaning effect.
That said my car was showing no side effects...just thought it should be done. My wife thinks my car is the most unreliable car ever, new turbos, charge pipe, exhaust system, down *****, inlets...the list is endless and ALL needed changing because they old ones broke
That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

Lol, well I went to Oreilly and got some new injectors. I will put them in tomorrow and see if anything changes.

For the same amount of money you could have got the walnut blast done. I had the same issue on my #1 coil. Misfire. Had BMW replace it and then it came back up again. After further investigation I had coking of the intake ports (what your pictures are representing) walnut blasted it and fixed my issue. Power band came back and the car had new life breathed into it. Also you need to potentially blast every 30k miles. My 535xi just rolled over 111k. So i would say it's more than likely a cleaning is all it needs and not injectors.

I bought my 2007 335i last year bone stock with 90,000 miles. It had never had the intake valves cleaned. I installed a jb4 right away and every single time I hit boost and did a feline pull the car would misfire very badly and go into limp mode. I changed all the plugs and coils and nothing helped. I then bought all the things so I can blast the intake vales clean and that 100% solved my problem. The valves were gunked up so bad I can't even believe the car ran.

My thought process was the injectors should be replaced because BMW says they need to be. I am replacing them today, I will still end up getting a walnut blast as well.

Installed the new injectors. Car is better. I got the slight misfire when I first started it, took it for a short short drive and then came back and let it idle. Didn't get anything.

Safe to say either one of my injectors were bad or the 09 index wasn't doing good with the 11 index injectors.
