All,

Some of you ask me whether I am happy or not with Trebila custom flash works. Here is my answer below. Hope this helps.

David ( Trebila ) is very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. I recommend a custom backend flash versus any off-the-shelf flash, *especially* with a twin turbo application. After this tune, there was a noticeable increase in power, and the driveability is even greater than before. David's tuning style focuses on squeezing the most out of your individual application while maintaining maximum reliability and safety. Have not had any hiccups whatsoever after 5000+ miles on his tunes. Hands down my favorite purchase towards my 335xi.

Being new to this kind of tuning, the car i purchased being set up so poorly (random ecu flash stacked with JB4), and having an EU spec car further complicating using the US spec back end flashes widely available i decided to give Trebila a shout for some hep.

I have only tried the first custom .bin and his recommended settings so far and i am VERY happy. Car is hugely improved, logs look much better. Looking forward to flashing V2.

David replies to almost every email within minutes, and is extremely helpful. The best value mod you can make to your car (if you don't know what you are doing, like me) is get this man to make you a custom back end flash!

With only intercooler iat suppression is not well enough to enhance the cooling weather which the turbos like the most. . Iat was raising up at the end of the logs and that induce a bit high avg ign retard , but not that much important. Timing is fine to me. Trebila is perfect to determine the things. Try using methanol with dual cm7 nozzle to reach higher boost levels. If you don't have fueling limitations, He can do more with less !

I cant decide if i want to run Meth or not. Lots of hassle, plus insurance issues, and its my daily drive. Think i will save up and get pure turbos eventually, more power but still stealth under the bonnet for insurance purposes!

If the matter is the longevity of your engine , meth and water are a must, but I am unsure about your insurance though. . But it worths to do a meth kit in your car even if you don't want to use it except doing a race roll. But keep in mind that , in summer it greatly helps for iat suppression. You can use it with dual cm7 for higher boost levels safely , and also you can use it with single cm5 nozzle spraying only distilled water for sensible iat's. I did All these comments considering you don't have access to E85 in your area.

I'm really putting this guy to work, sent him logs on crap 91 octane at 100F ambient today... must have seemed like a practical joke!

That said he's been very responsive to my emails and getting me new maps back immediately with our discussed changes. 91 octane is quite a puzzle but he's putting the pieces together very well.

I just wanted to give my two cents and mention how happy I've been with both the results and the customer service from David. I highly recommend him to just about anyone. He's extremely patient and helpful with any requests. He's very responsive and is great at explaining things when needed.

I can't say enough good things about him and his custom tunes

All I can say is Trebila is a god send. I have been working with him tunewise for over a year now. And he makes me feel that my car is the only car he is personally tuning 24/7. And only he knows how fussy and pedantic I am...lol

Can't really ask for much more than that

Looking forward to seeing what you can do with my Pure Turbos Stage 2 and RB inlets when it arrives David!

Cheers

Thanks guys, I'm doing my best

another EU FBO 335i MSport Highline DCT, stock turbos and stock inlets, with E30 and 2xCM7 nozzles:

Actual Torque seen by the DCT is maxed out at its limiter, for the higher clamping pressure physically available.

Next step: an upgraded LPFP and upgraded inlets to have more room for more boost.

now that's a pretty log!

sorry for the delay on my side, Los Angeles is still pushing 100F temps so it's tough to get you good info right now

Why in the world are you running 91 octane in LA? There are plenty of E85 stations close by if you're not in downtown. Even West LA has a station right off the 405.

Yup, it's 4 miles from me... which is 1/2 hr round trip at any normal hour

I just don't have the free time to do it every fill up, or any real reason to run more power than I can put down on my 95% city street driving

I just want to get a clean log for the fuel I run, not sure what the problem is?

update

now tuning custom hybrids with really slow spool, mostly as a single but can handle high boost up top, also as a single (boost below is far from max wgdc).
tweaking VANOS/timing/AFRs during spool made a huge difference in spool:

in green and blue: previously
in red, after VANOS/timing/AFRs tweaks:

to be continued

Looks great David! Do you think these tweaks would be beneficial on regular rbs or similar setups? I'm willing to test them out if you need more data.

do you have a slow spool with your RBs, Elijah ?

It's usually for big singles, but you can give it a try on your RBs if you feel them slow to spool.
