Default Methanol bottoming out down Fuel Trims 1 & 2 - 04-11-2019, 11:38 PM

Evening everyone.
So I am looking to find out a few things.

I've gotten a new CP with Tial BOV.
My initial CP had the Meth bung located at the Throttle Body/TMAP location.
The new one has the Bung located further to the front of the car.

Before I moved the meth location. The meth was spraying fine. But would not effect my IAT. And would give me occasional Misfires on Cyl4 & 6.
Also. While my Trims1 value was adequate. My Trims2 value would crash and bottom out.
80:20 meth:water mix
(Log attached named tmap meth location)

After fitting the new CP with the new Meth location. My IAT dropped dramatically which is brilliant. But now both Trims values took a nose dive. And I get pushed to Map4 for Last Safety 5 Fuel Trim Varience.
Also my boost drops more than without meth. And drops well below target.
Close to 100% meth
Log attached gear 3 map 3

I've decided not to use the meth for the time being and have switched to Map2. And have noticed the Fuel trims are alot better and more stable.
Also. My boost does not drop off as fast and as much as when using the Meth. It seems to be more stable with Target.
Log attached. Gear3 map2

Am I correct in assuming that the Trims and Trims2 values taking a dump with meth are what's causing the boost to drop faster?
Abd why would my Trims be nose diving with meth only.?

My LPFP and HPFP values looks more than good in all the logs. So I'm a bit stumped here.

Thanks for looking guys.
Your insight will be great.

On a side note.
I'm fitting TD04L-16T turbos this week along with 2" inlets and kityless D0wnp1p3s.
Will be using map2 to start off with and setting JB4 to the hybrid settings as soon as the car is up and running. But the meth is worrying me and I'm not sure what's going on.

Thanks again.

basically you guys are spraying so much meth (fuel) that the car needs to remove some to hit the AFR target but it's already holding back the maximum amount it can with trims on the current tune on the DME.

You will need to adjust the fuel scalars so that its in a better range where it can be closer to 25. Adjust a back end flash. Of course you could raise the boost which requires more fuel.

Excellent thank you for the response.

So if I understand correctly.
If Trims start to go above 25 that means that that you require more fuel to bring it down.

If the trims start to go below 25 that means you have too much fuel going in.

Is this correct?

Trims up = dme adding

Trims down = dme pulling fuel

Ps- more boost is always more fun

That’s my motto at least & also probably why my gf hates me & any car I buy...

Yes correct. The car is setup so it can add up to 33% more fuel (trims = 50) or reduce fuel flow by up to 33% (trims = 0).
Ideally trims would be 25 all the time where the perfect amount of fuel is being added but obviously many scenarios must be covered. Full throttle vs idling.

If your trims can't adapt far enough for your setup then you need to alter the fuel scalars in the back end flash.

Thank you Gents.

Since this post was create, i now have Stage2 Hybrid Turbos, 2inch Inlets and freeflowing C@tl3ss D0wnp1pes and N20 Sensor.

I have noted in my Logs that most of the values on the graph are jumpy and wavy, not a nice linear line by any means.
I will get a new log this afternoon and send to you guys.
I am on the latest PUMP BEF for IJE0S and latest JB4 revision.

i have attached a Map 2 log from yesterday.
I noticed after i changed to 4th gear my Trims 1 & 2 values separated with Trims1 going to 25, and Trims 2 going mid 40's.
Is this an indication of O2 sensor issues?

I have the FUD = 64 (Disable FF rpm gain)

thanks in advance guys.
Will try a meth log.

As a side note, i figured out that when my trims were crashing to the lowest like first post suggests, i was running 100% meth, and when i had 50/50 mix my trims were in the 35- 40 range, so i think i will go to a 80/20 mix and see how that does again for me.

Overall this doesn’t look too bad.

Let’s keep an eye on your LPFP though that looks to be stuggling a little.

Curious to see the 80/20 log

Hey General.Massacre,

What WM ratio did you settle on?
How are your Trims (bank 1 and 2) doing? Holding close to 25, or bottoming out / going to 40 still?

My Trims drop to 0 and I'm at 60/40 meth/water. Trying to clean this up.
