Default 435i @ 18.5 (flat) vs C63 AMG Coupe - 04-12-2018, 04:36 PM

It looked newer looking real slick, at 6.2 or 6.3 on front quarter panel. and the guy had a second *** delete, it was soooooo freaking loud thought they were straight *****.

So we are both at a light turn onto a straight country road, and he hits it, i go but forget i'm in 1st, way too short of a gear, rev limiter bouncing everyhwere, not a good start.

So as traffic clears out one by one we get on it, he goes first each time and whatever gap he had from taking off first i made up easily and hung on his bumper.

This *** and mouse went on for 5 miles i never passed but we were never side by side.

He couldn't come close to shaking me or pull away an inch.

We stopped and talked at the light. He had the *** delete, but that's all i asked. I almost want to say it was a MT cause he kept making the exhaust rage while we were waiting for cars to turn off the highway etc but i can't be sure.

Hmm it had square quad tail *****, i wonder which year they started those. They are usually round/oval.

The 6.3 with the v8 was from the last generation, which dyno for 360-380whp/370lbs. I’ve run a p31 package, old school c63 on lower boost and walked it, you should be able to as well, check your logs on map 7, make sure it’s running properly. I ran a new c63s amg with the 4.0TT, on a little under max boost. However, that thing makes 475whp+ and over 500lbs, with a much faster shifting transmission than the last gen, and he eventually pulled ~half a car on me on the top end. Do you have any logs of map 7

No log of the race, and I run map 6 flat boost at 18.5.

My car runs strong and hard, i'm pretty sure i would of walked away from it it was just a 2 lane road so no side by side chances.

The only chance we could get on it was when there was traffic in front of us, once he decided to to pass on a broken line, i would follow so he always had the jump on me as he made the move to pass traffic, but i would always catch up and hang on his bumper. We took it up to about 120 each time that happened

I did learn how to pid tune the FF and PWM in that one sticky post by Terry awhile ago so my car runs real strong, never more than 1 degree of timing pulled, always hits its targets or over.

I was just pretty impressed my little 435i with just a JB4 is so powerful. I really am contemplating a down pipe now.

You’re running 18.5 psi on the stock ********?
I know when I was on stock ********, I would run map 2 level boost and my car would hiccup, and logs would show insane boost fluctuation, if I were you I wouldn’t run that much boost without a ******** upgrade, that boost level with that much backpressure is not healthy for the engine.

Really not the case with mine. Maybe because i spent so much time trial and error trying to PID tune it. Not sure if its perfect but the power comes on smooth and quick and stays to that way close to redline in each gear. Trims are close to max but they don't stay there for long. I, AFR gets rich as it approach upper RPMS. timing stays 1.5 or less.

When i'm out tom ill do a pull for you and post my log.

Actually i found my before/after graphs of my PID tuning mid way on this post:

http://www.n54tech.com/forums/showth...t=29893&page=5

I've dialed in a bit more since then but ya, i'm sure a ** w/o a doubt.

I’d honestly get the ** to be safe, especially if the longevity of the internals are a concern, you won’t regret it. My ********* down pipe was by far my favorite mod, and made the most noticeable difference when driving the car aggressively, was also my last performance mod so I got a good before/after comparison.

Just checking back, i got the ******** a few months ago - what a difference. Wish i did it first. Car definitely breaths, shifts, accels better, and the burble is just enough.

At W0T i even get a loud pops in 1 2 and 3rd gear shifts :D
