Default Best methanol/water mix for bms mwi kit - 04-23-2019, 12:46 PM

2007 335
FBO
JB4
BMS WMI kit, single nozzle

I am currently using a 50meth/50water mix on map 3 and it is running good.
A performance shop has 70meth/30water mix available and I am wondering if I should give it a try.

Is the 50/50 mix the best? Or should I give 70/30 a try. Don't want to damage the engine. Thanks for any imput!

I don't think there is specific answer as it depends on your boost target on the map 3 adder and how your timing and avg ign looks like, colder season I run 60/40 or 70/30 and hot season I run 50/50. in short with higher meth I'm able to get higher adder boost and more meth support the octane, with higher water I'm able to keep my timing and intake temp happy.

In various scientific tests, 100% meth gave the best performance but it was marginally better than a 75:25 meth:water mix.

If you want more cooling and cost effectiveness, add more water. Up to 50:50.

If you want more performance but at a higher cost, add more meth. Up to 100%

Of course you can do your own testing. Do some logs with various mixes. See how your IATs are. See how your cylinder timing is. Use the free (PC) version of virtual dyno to impor your JB4 logs and see what's producing the most power.

UK FBO 335i, GCs, JB4, PI meth, BMS CP, OCC, Braided brake lines. Diff Lockdown. TMAP sensor, custom bucketless stage2

11.79@119mph on stockers, CP meth (UK, Santa Pod)
11.74@129mph on GCs, custom port meth injection.
