Anyone have anything other than .022 for NGK gap? -
07-27-2016, 06:49 PM
I am changing my plugs again.
I've been running the NGK 5992s (New number 95770) for about 2 years now. Always with a .022 gap. It's been running great.
Wondering if there are any other options when it comes to gap.
I run almost 25psi PEAK on stock turbos in map 6 with port injection on full e85.
Anyone run anything different?

If 0.022" is working well then there shouldn't be much benefit from using anything different.

.22 is giving me issues on Pure stage 2 turbos @ 27 PSI. I reduced it to .20 and it fixed my misfires

Sure it is running fine but maybe there's some options for a better spark. Just looking to see what everyone else is running

If I get laggy timing on a cylinder I'll try gapping the plug down a little first. My coils are all new. If that fails I replace the plug.
I have one at 0.5mm - 0.0196" No issues since.
UK FBO 335i, GCs, JB4, PI meth, BMS CP, OCC, Braided brake lines. Diff Lockdown. TMAP sensor, custom bucketless stage2

I was advised by a well-known tuner here, to gap my NGK's to .019. Stock snails at 21psi max, on e60. Any thoughts on that?
