Hi. I want to mod my car for performance and wanted to know which mods I can do and still be legal in California.
I already got pulled over and fixed ticket in the pass for air freshener highing on rearview mirror, no front license plate, modified exhaust, and aftermarket rpm guage on the piller, so those are off the list.

Wow you sure are unlucky. I was pulled over for supposed "speeding" and the cop didn't cite me for my mods or the air freshener hanging from my rear view mirror. He did however say in his court testimonial that my car exhaust was "modified" even though the mufflers was just stock with D O W N P I P E S. He didn't seem to know much about cars and asked if my car was supercharged due to how fast my car pulled and I replied that it was a 2 liter turbo. I passed my first smog test with Forge Diverter Valves and a Chargepipe as well as the BMS DCIs with no questions asked. I did change a lot of stuff now and I hope that I will figure a way to pass with my D O W N P I P E S, relocated inlets, and BOV

Nothing is legal in California. Even the air and oxygen you're breathing is illegal, but they let us get away with that due to human nature requirements.
