Default M140i Stock 12.5@112.6mph and 12.4@114.6mph - 06-04-2018, 02:09 AM

Hi from Australia, went to the drag strip last week and managed a 12.5@112.5mph with 2.067 sec 60ft, completely stock as driven out of showroom. This is in Sport mode, auto shifting, half tank of BP98 (US93 octane) and full weight.

Comfort mode, auto shifting I only did once and did 12.7@111.8mph with best 60ft of the night at 2.027.

Added a bit of boost, about 2 - 3 PSI via a home made boost adder and ran 12.4@114.6mph with a 2.06sec 60ft time.

If I switch to 245/40/18 Hoosier Drag Radials and get the 60ft down to 1.6 - 1.7 I think a 11.5 - 11.8 sec quarter is quite achievable and quite amazing for a stock car at such a low price point.

12.49 sec run here https://youtu.be/P54vwwSSDjs

That's actually really impressive for stock numbers. Do you have any logs from when you added boost?

I only log a few parameters for better data resolution, using Torque Pro.

Here's the 12.4@114.6mph and also the stock run 12.5@112.58mph, both in Sport mode.

Highest peak boost in the 12.5 run is 15.37 PSI and 18.27 PSI in the 12.4 run

In the 12.4 run with my boost adder I seem to get get better boost hold at higher RPM's, with a little less timing advance and richer AFR's, dipping down to the mid 12's compared to low 13's in the stock run. The lower timing and richer AFR most likely due to hitting higher Load values in the Timing and Fuel maps.

The car seemed to like a bit more boost

Default M140i DervTech Stage 1 DME + xHP Stage 2 TCU - 05-26-2019, 01:09 AM

Drag strip single run from yesterday.

There were heaps of cars and I had to wait for almost one and a half hours in staging to get a single run, but it went pretty good.

This is with BP98RON plus E10 - E12 blend, stock Michelin PSS tyres at 28 PSI, DervTech Stage 1 remote tune, xHP Stage 2 ZF8HP50 gearbox tune, Sport mode (not Sport+), sports auto shifting (shifter to the left), held on the brake at the lights in 1st at 2000 RPM

12.2@116MPH with a 2.05 second 60ft time.

In July, after the Winter Nationals are over at Willowbank Raceway I'll have some new wheels with some Hoosier Drag Radials. I'm aiming to get the 60ft times down to 1.7 seconds or better, which should see the ET drop to 11.5 - 11.7 seconds, which from what I can see should be one of the quickest Stage 1 B58 flash tuned car ATM.

BMW M140i Santa Pod. BMW DAY 2017 - YouTube

Car had stock tyres @ 32psi + JB4 MAP 2, Passenger seat and rear seat removed.

Not been to the track since that run, This year will hopefully have time to get to the track, done some tweaking over the winter so hopefully will do better

Its the only way to go, 1st is a waste of time.
attached is the log from a run on Sunday, still running 11.9, but felt faster than ever.
Would like to say a BIG thanks to Terry for answering my emails late on Sunday, i don't know another supplier that would do that, again THANK YOU .

All your comments on the log would be appreciated. Quaife Diff is going to be fitted this Friday

Nice times, do you have a time slip you can post? What 60ft times are you seeing for the 11.9 runs?

Thanks, nice 60ft with stock MPSS and you have some good top end power

Comparing your 11.97 to my 12.27 slip, at the 1/8 you were 0.1807 ahead, but at the 1/4 you were ahead 0.3072 and 4mph faster. Meth is definitely helping out ignition timing compared to mine.

These should help with the 60ft times, Hoosier 245 x 40 x 18 drag radials. Hopefully xHP will also have the adjustable launch control they've been working on for the ZF8HP50. Should be back at the track in the next 4 weeks

We did 11.56 @ 126mph on our M140 (501whp on stock turbo - custom e30/meth map). Thats on the street with P4S in rear (265/30/19) and a 2.0 60ft (dragy upload done).

We ordered 245/45/17 DR2 Hoosiers. I hope we can get that 60ft to 1.65 for possibly low 11 and maybe even better qmile?

126mph on stock turbos is great. A car with 501whp make 126mph is amazing !
How much weight ? Which temp, altitude and DA ?

We did not weigh the car. It has stock interior (leather seats), large M5 brakes in the front as well (which are more heavy than stock brakes).
Runs were done around 13c ambient... no idea about altitude and DA. I found how to enable it and will soon do some retests so can update it.
