Just wanted to chime in. See my signature for mods.

Loaded the JB4 E85 BEF with cold start noise reduction, raised idle, and shift bog fix. Loving those options so far. Didn't wake up the neighbors this morning and the increased idle minimizes the flywheel chatter.

Running 4/2 on map 7. My ethanol gauge says I have E55 in the tank, even though I just filled it with straight E85 after running it empty? Maybe it's still on winter blend. No logs yet, but should have some tonight.

A little car info.
2008 535i sport AT 46k miles completely bone stock, all original parts besides hpfp that has recently been replaced.
I plan on flashing stage 1 this weekend but decided to log my car stock first to possibly see if my car is heathy before I tune.
Here's my first log, hopefully I made it correct. Thanks.

So I need a lot of help. I should have read this before I went v6.

Same type of thing happened to me in a 2010 535i auto sport trans. My car was running like a stallion on the v5.1 Stage 1 93 oct and decided to try the v6 Stage 1 93 with Auto. Bottom end is gone and the boost is bleh - 2nd gear I am not sure what the hell its doing. And now I have a check engine light that MHD app says is not there but its blinding me. I will try and get my INPA working to see what this CEL is about.

I just want my car back to where it was before the Beta test. I loved the v5 Stage 1 93 and I fear I really did some damage. Here is my log, please help! If I need to post this in Logs I will... but this happened around MHD, so I am hoping someone has seen this.

Default Jb4 backend - 04-15-2016, 12:09 AM

After i load the backend flash, do I need to change any settings in the actual jb4 interface through the computer such as AFRs or duty bias to 0 like the instructions say for the bimmerboost flashing procedure. (Direction #13 in Terry's bimmerboost flash post) Because from what I've seen nobody has said that you do, but both ways flash the ecu so I'm confused, i don't want to take off all the cowls and such if I don't have to.. I know.. I'm lazy.. Also I'm not too familiar with what/where that exact setting is, I know I've seen the one for map 6 but I don't use map 6. Does this mean it doesn't matter? Sorry for being such a noob, I've had the jb4 for a while and just now starting to do my homework on modding and tuning, ********* coming soon

Yep you need to 0 out all afr and duty bias and set the jb4 steering wheel controls to 4/2 which im sure youve done already.

I got the carly app for bmw. It reads a lot of codes MHD is unable to read. I'm still troubleshooting my transmission issue. I will post answers when I come up with a fix.

I had another setback. A duralast coil pack fried a mosfet on my ecu. I just replaced the mosfet and all plugs and coils. Motor wise my car is strong again. Transmission wise 2/5 starts my car will give me transmission issues that vary.

Default How do i make a custom tune - 04-15-2016, 11:03 AM

How do you create a custom tune using jb4 and MHd? I have recently unmarried my cobb which I had a custom protund and went with this platform. I'm running upgraded pure stage 2, fbo, 3.5tmap, BMS meth kit w/fsb, 2step/no lift shift. I'm getting the car protunedin a few week and we're not to familiar on how to create a custom map untilizing everything from above.

I'm wondering how to customize boost psi levels, meth flow and when, timing, etc.?

Thanks I will check out Carly and hope to get to the bottom of this. With me going back to my stock bin from the v6 SNAFU and then to a v5 map started off rough, but about 24 hrs and about 9 starts... the tranny is acting somewhat normal now. However now my boost is all over the place. You wouldn't happen to have any logs would you? I would like to compare yours with mine to see what's the deal. I'd love to find out what happened, my car wasn't like this before I tried the v6.

Hello,

I am new to the forum. I just bought a e90 335i.
I have a small problem, overboost! ign falls down, etc. And I can not get it normal operation. Map1 better.

Car mods is JB4 G5, "MR5 intake," ***, no second cats, OCC. JB4_MHD_IJEOS_PUMP flash (3/14/16 Release).
I drive E30 blend (fuel ron93/eu98).

I changed just before the logs, new plugs and coils. S55 coils ja NGK plugs (set 0,022").

Map1

https://www.dropbox.com/s/tkgmd19839...30_46.csv?dl=0

What should I do or adjust the jb4 settings?
Is the car mechanical fault, the vacuum line, etc.?

where are these setting in the app? i would like the raised idle but i cannot find it. do we need the full flashing app to change these settings or do they appear after the BEF is loaded....sorry if this has been covered.

Do you have stock AT tranny or SAT tranny in your 535?

I just flashed the jb4 backend pump and disabled the kick down. For some reason my car seems slower than with just the jb4. Did i do something wrong? My mods are dci, cp w/tial, 7 intercooler, ******* ***, mmp inlets. After i installed my inlets i reset jb4 adaptions, put all jb4 settings to default, and did throttle thing. Before flash i had much more torque and power BUT car felt like it would hesitate and throttle was opening and closing, maybe it was from reset. But after flash theres just nothing. Feels like i have no turbos.

Did you enable BEF mode on jb4? Steering Wheel Control 4/2?

No but i will try that! Weird thing is, i reflashed back to stock, and same thing. Was fine before flash. Now my target is 17 while boost is only hitting 3. Heres a log.

Also, if i hit stock tranny when flashing, does it flash my tranny back to stock?

Any codes? No mhd wont flash transmission at all. I think its for DCT trannys only. Choosing others will not have any affect on transmission at this stage. Try loading flash and choosing 4/2. Dont know if it will help though.

Ok did it. Still nothing. I feel like im driving a civic. All my connections are good, cant really see rear turbo inlet connection but even if it popped off i should still have for than 3 psi of boost. Is it possible my jb4 is messed up? I did accidently pkug in phone to dkan vable while not in map 0.

Can you hear air being dumped out anywhere when you are trying to boost?

Figured it out. Theres a clamp that holds the 2 vaccum lines coming from the canisters. It was off and the lines were resting on the manifold. Burned right through them. Replaced them and all is good now. Heres a log. Let me know what you guys think abd if you see any issues.

Thanks for posting a stock datalog.

Everything looks good except I noticed that your short term fuel trim variance is HUGE between bank1 and bank2. Bank 1 is getting too much fuel and trims are going very negative while bank 2 trims are positive.

Like 30 points difference in some places.

Even though the trims are skewed.....they are doing their job, because your AFR's between banks is spot on.

Have some of your injectors been replaced?
