I've noticed my wastegates moving back and forth both when the DME wakes up and when I lock the doors and walk away.

Terry, mine is still doing it, not as bad as it was with 16, where it was almost more wastegate clank, now it is more vacuum noise

Quick question. I removed the JB4 (running map 5) for a dealer visit. Put in the SLD wires and upgraded to 17 while I had the cover off. Going to put it back in tomorrow. Will it remember the map 5 settings, or will it have to relearn again?

Nope. It's stored in the motherboard. It only gets erased if you upload new firmware and don't check the box that preserves your settings. There's a little tick box for that on the Settings tab where you select your JB4 version. It reads "Do Not Reset Settings When Updating Firmware." I am pretty sure it has a purpose :-)

Did you change maps before you took it off?

I did not check the box, but it did ask me if I wanted to change to defaults after the flash, to which I of course answered no. Are those not the same?

If you do not change maps it does not have to re learn.

I may be wrong, but the check box, only refers to the user adjustment data under the "User Adjustment" Tab.

A change intended to stop the wastegates from moving when waking the car up. Also a minor change to map 5 for those with a 335is/1M. Both of which need further testing. So I just posted it to facilitate that.

I also noticed when starting the car wastegates close faster (within 5 seconds) didn't bother me just letting you know. Wastegates used to stay open for a bit then close.

Default Does cutting G5 diodes void warranty? - 03-20-2013, 12:20 PM

If I cut the diodes on the G5 board, do I void my 1 year warranty?

Not if the diodes (correct ones) are the only ones you cut.

17b the first start it rattled. I restarted and it eliminated it.. I guess it adapted? Seems to have done the trick though!
Haven't driven yet.
