Default BOV drill and tap vs Vacuum Adapter - 03-24-2020, 09:26 AM

Newb question

After discovering the BMS/Vader Solutions BOV vacuum adapter I feel a bit more confused

Originally I was going to do the drill/tap method and modify the 1/8th nipple on the intake manifold for my BOV/CP install.

If I installed the vacuum adapter, does that provide a true 1/4th fitting to my BOV like the drill and tap method? What happens to the original 1/8th nipple if you get the adapter?

I wouldn't mind doing either one but if the adapter is going to make it a lot easier and works just as good i'm all in..

With the BMS adapter it's PNP, comes with two ports and we include a rubber block off and ziptie for the OEM nipple to be covered.

Sweet, just to be clear, this adapter will make it a 1/4 line (from intake manifold) to the BOV? just like the drill and tap method, not an upgraded 1/8th, correct?

Yes it will make a true 1/4 line. Go with the adapter. It is so easy to install and not worth the risk of ruining your intake manifold.

Yup, go with the full kit with the PNP hose locks. Set and forget, never have to worry about them blowing out cause of high boost etc.

Definitely a better and easier solution to get the adapter. The factory plastic manifold could crack or leak. This adapter is great

Hey! Two questions about the BOV Vacuum Adapter i'm going to purchase..

1. I'm opting for ER CP combo w/ HKS. Will the HKS cause me any issues with install?

2. If I'm sourcing my own 1/4" (6mm) lines will I need to get the upgraded kit, over the basic?

Thank you!!

No issues with HKS, I just know their line off the BOV is a bit smaller than 6mm IIRC.

You need basic kit for the HKS.
