Default New to N54Tech.com ... Error message: Short circuit to B+ - 07-28-2019, 09:27 PM

Hi everyone,
Greetings from Australia !
I have a 2013 335i M Sport PWG and I am currently getting the following error message:

" 104401 MAP sensor, intake pipe, electrical: Short circuit to B+ "

Is this something I need to worry about it ?
How to fix it ?
I have cleaned this error but it comes back ...

Please let me know.
Cheers
Bita

One way this can come up is if you have the Bluetooth kit red hooked to 12v instead of 5v.
It may also be a loose connection as Short can also mean open. (from memory)

It was fairly common on v1 systems if installed wrong. Is it v1 or v2? Install photos?

Hi guys,
Thanks for the replies.
It appears I chose the wrong MAP connection when I first installed the JB4.
My second-hand JB4 has 2 sets of light brown connectors (2 different types of connectors), 1 set of dark brown connectors, 1 set of blue (PWG) and 1 set of rainbow (TMAP).
I initially thought the light brown color was for the MAP sensors only but it turns out I used both light brown colours for the MAP and fuel pressure.
I had the dark brown colour plugged in the fuel pressure sensor and that was given the following error message:

" 104401 MAP sensor, intake pipe, electrical: Short circuit to B+ "

All good as gold now !!
Cheers
Claudio

You probably mean the old purple connection, that was dropped a few years ago, used to go to the MAF sensor on older systems. You can cut it off the harness.
