Talking Did I just break some type of n54 world record? - 08-04-2014, 11:04 AM

I dyno'd my car last Saturday and to everyone's surprise there, I put down some serious numbers considering my mods. It was quite a bit higher than 335's with more mods that day.

At 95*F it pushed 419whp/430wtq with just Jb4 G5 ISO, E40, and DCI's on map 5...

Stock turbos, stock everything else.

My results were pretty consistent for each of the three pulls.

Here's the video:
http://youtu.be/JOVH_jS_fmw

What do you guys think?

Nice numbers numbers but not a world record. Map5 tends to not be the best on the dyno either.

Now i have to ask, if you guys put RB turbos on that car, would you break the record 550whp on RBs or would they "only" add 69whp MAX to get 550whp?? With spending that $3500+ thats just not worth it...

Not a record for tune only car. I've seen higher numbers.

I managed to pull off 464whp on misfiring cylinders. Was kind of disappointed the car decided to start acting up on dyno day.

You can have more reliable 500whp power with RB turbos and better power curve.

What were the mods on the 335i's? Were they running E85 too?

You could have gotten lucky with your E85 mix and just hit the sweet spot with E85 with what your car likes and makes the most power with.

If the other 335i's weren't running E85, but had DP's for example they don't have more mods than you. Just curious what you think equals more mods.

Good numbers though even though I'd really like to see trap speeds as proof of power instead of dyno numbers.

Thanks. I believe all except for one was running e85. He was on map 1 and kept kicking into map 4 unfortunately.

Your car was the last car I saw before I left.

Of the mostly stock cars I saw, I think was my E93, Rob's E93 w/cobb and possibly the blue 335is w/cobb. The rest of the cars had bolt ons.

Mine was the one kicking down to map 4. Still looking into that...

So here's my run from yesterday at the 1/4 mile track. Hopefully this helps back the above average dyno numbers. Let me know what you guys think (I'm on the left).

Not bad, the F80 M3 puts down 425 WHP on every dyno I've seen and traps 118 - 119.

I think the dyno operator is a little generous in your run but 113 traps is very respectable.

I can only imagine what your IAT's were with the stock FMIC. I'd bet you would gain 2 MPH traps with an upgraded IC.

Thanks, yea I'm curious of my IAT's as well considering outside temp was around 85-90.
I too was surprised with the M3's trap until I found out it weighs about 3300-3400lbs, according to Motor Trend.

It's actually 3550 - 3600 lbs as most of them are delivered and equipped.

I recently logged my car and the initial off boost temps were 20 degrees above ambient. After one third gear run they jumped another 10 degrees.

Your IAT's were probably in the 150 range by the end of the 1/4.

IATs could be even higher than that on a hot day. Before my upgraded FMIC, I saw 190s at the end of just the 1/8 mile.

You should really log your track passes. Makes it easier to correlate with times/traps with relevant logging data.
