Default Data Log Review - 11-24-2020, 09:01 PM

Hi everyone, background on car/me, I'm new to the N54 platform and recently purchased an E92 6mt, at the time was FBO, stock tune. Have since added MHD, JB4 BEF with E85 map 2 step/ anti-lag, 3.5 bar tmap, PR coils, stage 3 bucketed twin 450 walbro pumps with 15psi hobbs switch. I'm still on the stock twins but have purchased DocRace ST,BMP PI, JB4 PI controller, Mac solenoid for the ST conversion when the snow flies and I no longer can drive the car.

My knowledge on building HP is very vague and I'm simply having fun learning as I go and tinkering in the barn. Im hoping that this forum, since it been such a great help so far id like to post and get constructive feedback/advice from the datalogs that I've logged.

thank you for taking the time to read and possibly help me better learn and build my car ~Justin

Welcome to the forum Justin.. first thing you should do is enable 6cyl timing on the Jb4 then post a log that’s 3rd gear wot 2k to redline.. how much E85 are you running? It looks like your hpfp dips a few times is why I ask..

I will be more than happy to post another log for review. I'm running about a e60% mix, trying to get through this tank so I can get an accurate e mix back in the tank. Can you explain the values on the JB4 HPFP datalog? the MHD records it in psi and I'm unsure what the jb4 values are.
Thank you for your time

No problem.

Had a break in the inclement weather and was able to go out and run some more logs. after looking at them with my basic knowledge my concerns are the ignition timing corrections in cyl1 & cyl4, boost spike at 3-4 wot shift, the car feels to run smooth & run strong through the whole rpm range also. I'm running around e50 with 2 walrbro 450's in a bucketed system, MHD+JB4 bef. I'm trying to gain all this knowledge before I put my single turbo & PI on and pushing the motor more so I'm here to learn, become an asset to the community and again I appreciate the help and feedback.

I'm no expert, but timing looks solid all around. I don't see any timing pulls on cylinder 1 under WOT. My cylinder 1 always looks a little odd on light throttle, too. Not sure exactly what causes it to track differently than the remaining cylinders but I'm pretty positive it just has to do with the exact timing of each data point and how it's logged. Looks fine at WOT so I wouldn't worry about what it's doing at very light boost and throttle.

Otherwise, you only have 1 timing pull on cylinder 4. That's always the "noisiest" cylinder for me. The knock sensors on these cars are very sensitive and some timing drops are normal. I have a few hundred data logs sitting around from over the years, and I'd guess only a handful don't have at least 1 timing pull through an entire 3rd gear log.

Boost spike when you let off the pedal in 4th is just a brief build-up of pressure as the throttle closes. Nothing seems off there.

All in all, looks like a pretty solid log. One thing worth keeping an eye on is HPFP since you're right on the bottom end. You're not leaning out so it seems fine for now, but HPFP should ideally sit at 10 (1500psi) or above while at WOT. It's sitting right at 10-11 for a decent bit of the pull, and dips down to 9 a few times.

Thanks for taking a look and the reply @zach1328. The more research I did yesterday learning more about the acceptable parameters for the datapoint's I feel better about the logs. The drops in HPFP have been mentioned before and is on my radar. Im almost ready for a 2nd fill up of e-mix and this time I won't have the snafu I had with the first tank so my mix is more accurate.

Default Installed mhd bef GC2 _e85_PI.bin now logs are terrible - 12-06-2020, 03:02 PM

installed my port injection (did a walnut blast) and JB4 PI controller and now the car feels awful. setting off major codes, misfires and low fuel pressure on pulls. I'm still at E60, not sure why my walbro 450 will dip down to 30psi when it was holding pretty strong before the pi upgrade and flash? I don't think the pi is working at all.

I'll post a log and hopefully I can get some feedback. This log was after I reflashed the e85 pi_bin for the 2nd time.
