335is safety mode overboost -
02-11-2020, 06:49 AM
I have a 2012 335is with Tial BOV, aluminum charge pipe, bms dual cone intakes, primary and secondary *** delete. I also have a BEF MHD. I am having problems running jb4. I have usually left it on map 2, but recently whenever the throttle is around 50 percent, jb4 will switch the map to safety mode. Is there any certain user adjustment settings I need to change to prevent this. I read in previous threads there were custom map settings in map 6 for the IS but I am no longer seeing it. Any suggestions or tips are appreciated!

Log is worth a 1000 words. Usually overboost is a tuning problem, but we need to see.

If you post a current log, that would give us more insight as to what’s going on

I have attached a few logs. There is a log that says 3rd gear pull 0, where the car in WOT switched to safety map from map 0, which disables jb4 entirely.

The JB4 settings look OK, but boost request is way off from normal. if I had to guess, your menu 4 setting is not set for BEF mode, or the flash is not compatible with JB4 stacked.

I mean I have the jb4 335is BEF from MHD, and then I have my menu 4 set to 2 for BEF. Is there anything else the issue can be?

If you confirmed that menu 4 is correct, check you are using an MHD flash meant to run with the JB4 and not meant to be stand alone.

I have updated the jb4 firmware and reflashed the MHD BEF with the newer update and I am still being kicked into safety mode when cruising
