Where Ohhh where has the boost gone... -
09-02-2021, 04:48 AM
Wondering if someone had any insight to an issue I am having.
When I installed the JB4 in June the car (2019 1.6l turbo) was making 16-18psi on map 0.
The car now makes 12-14 psi on map 0.
Nothing has been changed on the engine, nothing taken apart so shouldn't have any boost leaks.
The only changes are I installed the fuel wire about a month ago and now run E85 mix.
Here are two logs, one from June and one from august.
Is it possible the car is auto tuning itself for lower boost?
Thanks.

The JB4 is in bypass on map 0 so this is 100% DME and hardware. I doubt the DME has pulled boost unless there was some sort of software update by the dealer. Could be a boost leak though...

Charge air temp is lower in the newer log, likely why factory boost target is now lower.

I will check for a boost leak anywhere, but makes sense that the DME boost target is lower with cooler air as it is more dense. In theory then, when IAT’s go up boost levels will rise to compensate?

It was warmer here today so I took the car out for a spin and did a couple of quick logs.
Map 0 the car is back to making 15-17psi as the IAT's where over 100, so I guess the factory DME knows what's going on.
