Iím pretty sure they can tell just by looking at the boost levels and increased timing.

It gets technical but certain aspects of the tuning like peak torque target, peak load target, peak engine speed, and peak road speed, are stored in a separate "black box" within the ECU for later interrogation. Since the flash map has a higher torque and load target, that is one of the easy ways they can later tell. When you "jailbreak" the DME traces are left behind as well even when flashing back to stock so that is a separate way they can tell.

That said with the fuel cap those of us wanting to make > 400whp consistently are going to see some real benefits with flashing. No one ever said going fast was always cheap or risk free.

Fair points. Thanks for that Terry and I think my want for > 400whp is going to overrule my risk adverse side.

Nice thanks for this info. So pretty much the M-boot they offer that freezes the flash counter wouldn't be worth purchasing?
