Rev 3.7 Connect Kit App Compatibility Updates -
05-01-2020, 10:44 AM
Hey guys we are releasing app updates for Android and iOS which includes some necessary compatibility updates for our new Rev 3.7 Connect Kits.
If you have one of these kits you will simply need to install the latest app build from the links below, hit the 'Connect' button, then follow the on-screen prompts.
For Rev 3.7 customers using the new update, JB4 Firmware Updates are just as fast as a direct USB connection when using an Upload Timeout value of 10. Rev 3 and Rev 3.6 customers will NOT notice any speed differences.
***Updated 06/04/2020***
**This should be one of the last Rev 3.7 firmware updates necessary as I believe I've worked out most of the bugs.**
This requires at least app build 2.4.4 (9375) for iOS or build A328 for Android.
These updates are now live for iOS and Android in the App Store/Google Play.

So this testing is for the new bluetooth module that connects to the JB4 and your phone, correct?

Yes. I'm finishing up one more update for the Rev 3.7 kits which should fix all the remaining bugs and as an added bonus DRASTICALLY improve JB4 Firmware Update times. I have it functional on my end and will be doing extended testing today to make sure I handle most of the different use-cases. If testing goes well then I'll have new beta versions for iOS and Android ready for users to try.

We are beginning extended testing today and if all goes well will have a beta ready tomorrow.
With the Rev 3.7 kits using the upcoming app versions, firmware updates can be just as fast as the direct USB connection.

Shouldn't really matter too much for non Rev 3.7 customers, but you're more than welcome to update if desired to use the new Firmware Update Interface with signal strength indicator.

I have the old BT kit and the update to v17 took as long as it did in the past, maybe a tad longer.

You'd need to drop timeout delay to 10 for the fastest possible upload time, if your device has a strong enough signal to run it.

That's because the speed improvements aren't in reference to the old kits (Rev 3 or Rev 3.6). The speed up is only for Rev 3.7 customers.

Yes, the chip supports most of the features of BT 5.0. The 4.2/5.0 speed increase can be seen mainly when updating the Rev 3.7 kit OTA as that whole process usually takes less than 20 seconds.
These speed increase is also what allowed the dramatic improvements to the JB4 Firmware Updates for Rev 3.7 customers.

Will there be an upgrade path for existing BT kit users? I'd love to be able to update firmware faster, but would have a hard time justifying the full price cost.

updated app to version 3.7 questions -
06-09-2020, 09:30 AM
Hi,
I updated the app for my iPhone, yesterday. I do like the improved firmware download methods, but...I am unable to save revised user adjustment settings, and the logs are all combined in some weird file number. How do I get back logging each WOT runs with their own file name time etc.
Thanks
Alex
