My first post here,

In the beginning of this year I bought 2012 F30 335i, 6speed manual, PWG
The car was FBO when I bought it - FTP Motorsport CP kit, 3.5" free-flow exhaust starting from the turbo, Wagner EVO1 IC, GFB DV+, Race BEF, Stage 2 LPFL upgrade, JB4

Anyway. Last month I got the car servied and I decided to go and test it out before going on with the mods. Currently I am running MAP2. The results / acceleration was not as good as I hoped, so I logged a few runs and checked them, maybe someone can have a look at them share some professional advice.

Things I notivced:
- AFR is lean upto 5000rpm, after that till the redline it keeps getting richer.
- Im not hitting target boost after 4000rpm, most of the time 2psi down, WGDC reading is below 30
- Lot of noise through out the rpm range in all cylinders.

Recent preventive reapirs:
- New timing chain
- New connecting rod bearings
- Wallnut blasted the intake ports
- New Bosch ignition coils
- New Bosch 0242145515 spark plugs (ZR5TPP33) gap 0.8mm

Fuel RON98 (US 93 Pump)
Outside temp 22 °C or 71-72 °F
Altitude 4ft
Humidity 34%

PS: How do you get JB4 Mobile to save each pull i do as a seperate log file ? Currently it is putting all the pulls in one file.

Set duty bias to 50 across the board.

Bump fol up to 70.

Can you get more octane? May need to narrow the gap of your plugs. Generally. 026 to .024 is what most do with this level of boost. Make sure your coil pack are well seated.

Do that. Post another log.

Believe there is a setting in the log menu to not combine logs.

Thank you for the reply, Ill start with the plugs and try changing the Duty Bias and Fol.
Unfortunately RON98 is the highest octane I can buy from a petrol station.

I do have WMI system, but it needs some modifing first. FTP Motorsport charge pipe has a WMI 1/8" bung in it, but the BMS WMI nozzle fits in the bung too high and sprays the water-methanol mist against the threads of the bung so no actual mist gets injected in the chargpipe. I don't see any point using the system till I have fixed that. Thats my only reasonable option adding octane at the moment.

Well, gapping the Bosch ZR5TPP33 plugs to 0.5mm ment instant misfire on first start up at idle and shutting down cylinders 3-4-5. Did double check the coils, if they are seated on the plugs and found no errors there. I gapped them back to 0.8mm and car was running fine again.

Bumping up FOL to 70 did help a little with the AFR with RACE BEF

I have no switched from PWG3_RACE_IGN to PWG3_PUMP_1. Our fuel here is infamous for being not that good so figured ill give it a try and see what the timing does.

The car feels definitely faster. I attached a 2-3-4 gear log. Timing is still not good though.

So which flash are you on currently?

Can you post a full 3rd gear log? 2k rpms to redline shift to 4th hold a second or two, take foot off gas.

It looks like the pump flash is a bit happier.

However, your timing is pretty bad. I would guess you are in desperate need of octane. Do you have any e85 nearby? Or order a bottle of high quality octane booster and add that to confirm.

Also, confirm that you are on the latest jb4 firmware.

I have a PWG V1 board, and that needs the v13 or older firmware. E85 is not available around here. Option is to buy 100% ethanol from a chemical store and mix that with fuel. Ill try map 1 for comparisson to see if timing is any better.

I installed BMS WMI kit with the BM7 single nozzle. WMI is working, the gauge shows flow and from logs I can see meth flow. On map3 when you hit purge it spays meth. The spray pattern and mist that forms look promising, but in reality things are not that good. From logs I see IAT was 78F and under full boost dropped to 75F. Thats not a hugh gain, a day before the meth install I did a pull and without WMI the IAT dropped from 97 to 93. AVG IGN is very high ~5.1 with meth. I didnt see that high numbers even with MAP2 and RON98 fuel

Should I try BM10 nozzle or dual BM7 ?
50meth/50water was in tank

And I noticed that the AVG IGN resets every time I turn the car off. Might be a bad control board? The app freezes from time to time aswell.

I'd personally do a dual BM7 rather than a BM10. The logs not too bad, definitely seen worse. It's not just the cooling, the octane is important as well and IAT's are staying pretty consistent.
