Hi,
Is there any back end flash for bootmod3 stage 2?
I’m currently using jb4 (I’m full bolts on) but considering bm3 stage 2. I want to use jb4 for logging and I wonder if I can use it with map2 or map5 or if that would interfere and throw things out of control and I should use map 4.
Any recommendations? I see posts about Ğ*MHD + jb4” and “bm3 +jb4” but for guys using methanol which is not my case.

Comments welcome!

If you have the obd cable connected to the jb4, then you can use any ots flash or the jb4 bef. Ots or bef, it didn't matter. They are the same thing in terms of a dme flash. If you use an mhd ots you can fine tune it and raise boost. If you use the jb4 bef you can do the same, or even use their xdf in tuner pro and modify the bin.

You don't need to have wmi unordered to use jb4 with bef, but you could safely if you have a turbo capable of push high psi.

Lastly map 0 will give you closest to the base dme tune, mhd its our stock, or jb4 bef. You should have the obd connected after map 0.

Hi terry,

I wonder if you can help me out. I have jb4 and would like to add mhd.
Based on the instructions at the top ... I’m trying to validate if I understand them correctly:

1) get mhd app and went cable ios
2) can I do a back up copy of my current set up (I have mppk)
3) I should flash stage 0 from mhd
4) flash stage2+ 93 oct pwg
5) go into n54 and download jb4 bef for n55 pwg ?
6) which file should I use as I only see race & e85 versions?
7) where do I find the futureused? I go into jb4 settings and only see futureusea. I have the pwg 15 t1.hex file which seems to be the most updated one?

My questions might sound very stupid ... but I’m new to this world.
Tks much

Francisco.

You don't have to buy the mhd ots tunes, just the flasher and flash their initial base tune that comes with it. Then download jb4 bef and load race if you are using 93oct. Start their as directed on the n54tech website.

Tks for your reply @cmcacmca75.

1) So is there a way to backup my existing setup (oem w mppk)?
2) What about the futureused? How to find it?

Tks
Francisco

As the manual says. It generates a oen stock file, it does not extract your current tune in the dme. You can try jb4 with obd cable with your current tune and see how it performs. If you want to change it, you will only get stock back without mppk.

Hi cmcacma,

All good and Was able to flash jb4 race bef ... all working fine.
Is there a big difference between this bef setup vs mhd stage2+ ots? Or are they pretty close?

Tks

I would say it depends on your car and setup. You have to log to see which withe better. So far for me, on a ps2 I got the best times on an mhd ots ps2 e30 stage 2+. I'm custom tuning my own e45 tune with more advance and vanos changes.

We make minor changes from time to time, and all files can be opened in TunerPro to compare the differences.

Set DWP to 0, that may help eliminate the tip in boost spike. Then set duty bias to 30 across the board to speed up it's adaption a bit.

Car: about to purchase 09 335i Xdrive
Default 10-22-2020, 07:53 AM

Quick question after stating it's nice to see some updates to the BEF maps! About to update but question regarding which map and why.

Car is 2016 f34 335GT N55 with upgraded Boost and Charge *****, FMIC and Injen CAI. stock *** at the moment. 94 octane gas. Was thinking to run either Map 2 or 5 on JB4 and which of the EWG files should I run? Pump_10e.bin seems the correct one, but what conditions/situation would prompt me to run the Leaner_AFR_10.bin. too rich codes/condition?

Thanks for input!

2016 335 GT - let the upgrades begin..

2000 Z3M - too many upgrades to mention ... lol

Thank You Terry! I made those adjustments. I appreciate your time. I attached some more logs. Seems more consistent without those boost spikes but want to make sure I am running great.

Thanks
