They are willing to do SPEC clutch combo's as well in the group buy.

Original post updated to include spec clutch prices as well

What causes the rattle issues when swapping to a single mass flywheel? I did a similar swap on my IS300 and didn't have any rattles. Every other car I've owned has only had a single mass flywheel and doesn't rattle. Is it something to do with the unsprung clutch disc?

The only clutch rattle I've ever heard is from a twin or triple plate clutch and I agree it sound's terrible.
Any answers?

Has to do with the SMFW having no dampeners built into it to reduce the sound from what i've read. But i could be wrong.

I read the thread on Bav Auto about where the noise comes from. Still don't know why a sprung clutch disc wouldn't fix this. My IS300 made no noise after a dual to single mass flywheel swap. And what about the cars made for the last 100 years with single mass flywheels?

I was more interested in the bolded question.

Are the 335is and 550i pressure plate the same?

Since the 335is clutch kit and 550i clutch kit are the same part # I assume they use the same pressure plate.

Difference between 550i and stage 3 is probably a torque rating and disc design. Check their website.

I'll ask about shipping to canada and get back with you. PM me an email I can reach you at.

Saw my name was on this list, thought the group buy had died. Unfortunately, I don't need a clutch for now so I'm out.

the flywheel is not a problem as these ship from our TW warehouse, so US/Canada/Europe is all the same cost.

the clutches though (whether 550i or SPEC) ship from within the US, which is more expensive than shipping from TW!

Thanks for the follow up, I have to wait ti pull the trigger as I discovered my diff needs servicing and I have to bring it to a specialist to evaluate and may have to spend on a new diff etc.

I'd be down for this combo also but for N55. Steel flywheel. Would I be able to be included in the group buy?

If you can find the parts you're looking for on mfactory's website, send me a list and I'll be glad to ask them for you!

Thanks!
