Default M Factory - Clutch/Flywheel Group Buy - 11-17-2015, 10:52 AM

Hi there everyone.

With the ever growing popularity of e85 tunes for the 335i, a lot of us (6MT owners) are having to upgrade to a stronger clutch, since the factory unit just can't hold up to the added torque.

However, the 335is clutch has been proven to be a great alternative that has held up over 500 ftlbs of torque without issues. It's also a decent alternative to buying a stage clutch from a company like spec, southbend, ACT, clutch masters, etc as it comes at a much cheaper price.

I have organized a group buy with MFactory on their 335is clutch & Mfactory single mass flywheel bundle and I want to extend the offer to you guys.

Since the 335is clutch is an OEM part, it cannot be discounted, however mfactory has offered a discount on their SMFW for us. Here are the rates.

Regular MSRP of 335is clutch/mfactory smfw bundle is $899 + shipping
5 buyers gets us a discount of 849.95 and FREE shipping
10 buyers gets us a discount of $799.95 and FREE shipping

Regular MSRP of Spec Stage 2+ combo is $1199
Group buy price $1150

Regular MSRP of Spec Stage 3+ $1299
Group buy price $1200

The official purchase submission date has been extended and will be on March 4th.

If you are interested, please post below and if you don't mind, private message me your email so I can give you updates about when the order will be submitted.

i've heard varying opinions and reports on the noise.

Some say it sounds like a diesel on the outside.
Others say its hardly noticable over how loud the injectors are.
Others say you can't hear it inside the car unless the stereo and air is off.

They didn't offer me a group rate on any of their other clutches/flywheels.
Perhaps they can offer you a response if they reply here, or you can PM them and see what they can do.

I may be interested in a stage 3+ group buy if they are willing to mix and match different types of clutches within the group buy.

I assume mfactory probably already has them in stock at that price and can't go lower or something, but regardless i'll buy the package deal from them since they're willing to work with us.

You can put me down for a setup. My car is being upgraded with pure s2 turbos come January. Mfactory is back ordered on 8bolt flywheel until end of January though.

Guys, please do not forget:

-You can get the OEM DMFW for 575 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-135i-Clu...VTaMzi&vxp=mtr)
-Clutch kits range from 300-1000.

A stage 3 with SMFW can make your car sound like a bucket of bolts (look up single mass flywheel n54 chatter).

Thanks for reminding us about flywheel chatter. I will also take time to remind ppl about two things hence why a lot of us want to swtich to SMFW

1- DMFW will make false knock at around 550whp + and cause problems

2- Flywheel chatter is greatly reduced (80-90%) when raising your idle using MHD Flash option.

Couldn't get enough people on board for this first go around, and due to financial issues I ended up not being able to afford it by the deadline I expected.

So I'm going to revive this and we will submit our order on March 4th.
That should be ample time for everyone to receive tax returns and save up.

Please inbox me with your order and we'll make this happen.

Bump :p

So the 335is and 550i pressure plate is the same?

What causes the rattle issues when swapping to a single mass flywheel? I did a similar swap on my IS300 and didn't have any rattles. Every other car I've owned has only had a single mass flywheel and doesn't rattle. Is it something to do with the unsprung clutch disc?

The only clutch rattle I've ever heard is from a twin or triple plate clutch and I agree it sound's terrible.

Was it verified that they will also do a discount on the spec 3+ clutch and SMFW combo? Did you happen to get a price if so?
