Default 535 Dr Euro DP Dyno Testing - 06-06-2013, 12:43 PM

Hey guys,

Had a chance to meet up with Adam at the dyno today and retest his modified stock turbo 535. Only this time, he has the new Dr Euro ********* installed.

The car sounded sweet and dyno gains were impressive. The car is running a JB4, bms flash, *********, dci, occ, catback, intercooler, and an option2 inline pump.

We did a few runs on 91 octane and then a few runs on E60. The E60 mix worked out about perfect for map 7 but his "melter map" 6 would be happier with something in the E70 range.

Attached are some charts comparing before/after the ********* at various power levels. On the pre ******** map 1 91 octane run we made less power than expected back then and I didn't realize until after that testing that I had accidentally left the flash settings on the JB4 end. This time around we left the bms pump flash in place for the 91 octane testing. So we can't credit the entire gain there on 91 octane to the ********* but likely more than half.

The E85 testing was a fairly apples to apples comparison (same boost & advance targets) showcasing the gains from the ********* alone. Which were quite impressive.

I would just like to thank you Terry for overseeing the dyno. The install for the ********* went very smooth, especially since it was done on the ground in the customers garage. Below are some installed pictures of the final production *****. We are very pleased with the build quality from our fabricators. As you can see, we minimized welds by using the mandrel bender. Our fab guys laid some very pretty tig welds.

For now BMS is the only one in stock with ***** as we have already sold our first run of *****. We are already working on more. Contact orders@burgertuning.com if you would like to pick one up sooner than later. The price will be going up for the next batch due to unforeseen manufacturing cost during the first run. Current retail is $699.

That's excellent Terry. I was contemplating *** but there's honestly not many clean back to back tests of *** out there even after all these years, especially when E85 is involved. Now we can see they're good for ~30whp at high power levels

Congrats on some truly sick dyno numbers, without meth!

*** not only add power, they reduce lag and make the car much more responsive to the throttle.
Crazy what the N54 engine is capable of with a few mods and tweaks.
A stock M5 does 420 WHP and 335 WTQ for comparison. 5 race tuned liters of displacement. Adam, if you run into one, stand tall!

Daniel,

How long did installation take?
As we know the E60 is extremely tight by the turbos and it's usually a battle to get them in place. Just wondering if you had same issues.
My ARs took 6 hours to install. 2-3 techs cursing the whole way. They dropped the sub frame. I bought them from a guy who took them off his 535Xi, and that took 5.5 hrs as well. Long day at the shop. At least I had a grin on my face as I drove home by 8:30 pm!

The install took me 3 hours on the ground. Keep in mind that I have been working on the n54 engine since the beginning. I helped develop the first 3" *** for the motor. I recommend professional install but a detailed DIY with pictures will be available for those of you who are mechanically inclined. The product was designed with the installer in mind. No need to try and cram them in at the same time.
