Default "Devils own" meth kit W/4-AN fitting & Race tank review - 01-26-2013, 02:22 PM

Decided to upgrade my meth kit because my other kit (not getting into wich one, this is a review not a bash thread LOL!!) was having issues with air in the lines. I contact Devils own and ordered the following below and it intergrates with the JB4 FSB perfectly. Devils own customer service is way above expectations...aswered every Email and I was able to tell them the length of the lines I needed and the kit was shipped the next day!

Tank: I LOVE this tank...has a baffle/sump built in so you can take the fluid down low (I never do) and is beneficial when taking hard corners ect. The tank is built exactly like a fuel cell...VERY thick....you could stand on this tghing and it wouyld not budge. The lid is awesome...seals very well and tou just twist the insert and it suctions down..twist in oposite direction and un-seals. I also like the vented allen screw fitting, not just a hole drilled in the tanks cap.

Note: If you get the race tank you will have to have push in fittings from pump to tank.

Fittings: Greatest part of kit, so much easier to purge your systen not fighting a "push in fitting" and the nozzle just stays in place forever (unless you have to clean the nozzle).

Nozzle/Nozzle holder: I really like the design of there nozzle with the screw in filter. I love the Nozzle holder with the 4-An fitting as stated above...easy to purge and the Nozzle holder will alow you to use a CM nozzle also.

Selonoid: Pretty much all are the same, except I do like the thicker wires on this unit and of course the 4-AN fittings.

Pump: Works great, pumps are pretty much the same also...this one is rated at 250 psi.

Installed pics/Notes:

If you run yours like I did You will need 1X 14 ft hose (Had a foot extra just incase) 1X 10" piece (From selonoid to nozzle.

Note: If you have 4-AN fittings on tank you will need a 2-3 foot piece here with a 90 degree fitting on your line....depends on your set-up.

I am VERY satisfied with this set-up, meth flows great and response is instant:

Nice work rob. Looks like a bulletproof and fireproof meth setup.

You are right in the fact that your meth flow cuts in quick and hard looking at that incline of meth on the log.

Looks as if your really utilizing those RB's for all there worth.

Wel done.

Awesome write up once again Rob!!

When going braided lines, how will you identify air pockets in the line?

only own side to it, but you will not have to worry about that with these fittings!

Only issue for me is that tank sits right in the middle of the trunk. I actually use my trunk. I do like the fittings though.

Great idea on the fittings. I think I will fix that on my car in the spring. Not that mine leaks. But those fittings definitely are nice to run 100% meth.

Really solid setup. So you got the braided line and 4an fittings from DO?

They sell it as a kit or kit upgrade....you get 3 hoses (tell them length and if you want 90 or straight fittings). Great quality to!

Does this look like the complete DO order list for a new installed meth kit?

  • 250 PSI Recirculation Pump Pump Outlet Fittings : 3/8 Npt
  • Stainless Steel Line Set 3/8 NPT pump head : Yes
  • 250 PSI SolenoidAN or NPT fittings : -4 AN fittings
  • Upper Housing Assembly Pump Outlet Fittings : 3/8 Npt
  • Valve Assembly
  • Outside Mount Nozzles - DO10

you do not need the valve assembly...I forgot what, are your mods? What tank have you decided on (if getting a race tank you will need a push in fitting on pump inlet.

Thanks Rob, so i'll eliminate the valve assembly from the list.

I've currently got FBO (DP's, intake, CP, FMIC) running a JB4.

The tank i will be going with is this:

Great tank, I wish that was around when I got the meth kit I had in the 335. And OP the DO kit seems much much more professional than the ** one I had.

Very nice tank! You will need to measure where ever the pump goes as they will be longer than what I used. I would go with a DO10....if you get RB's go with a DO 14. I am going dual nozzle I think (DO7 & DO14).

I keep a spare tire in the trunk, so a little extra space is nice.

Great setup. If someone with no meth kit were to get that same setup, how much would it cost? Also, even though a push fitting is needed for the race tank, could the hose used have a push fitting on one side and a 4-AN fitting on the pump side, allowing use of the 4-AN fitting on the pump?

A set up like his is around $500.00+ nd with the BMS FSB I would say $600.00 for everything. I have 4-AN on the other side (outlet but really cn use a 4-AN on the other side with the race tank. Where it is toped is in the baffle....trust me, these push-in fitting are awesome. My buddy has there pump with push in fitting and has it mounted right under his ground effect so it is exposed to salt, rain you name it and it never leaked!

Also made a modification to the system, selonoid mounted right before the nozzle....will post pics. With this stainless steel line it s a VERY robust fitment.

With the selonoid closer to the nozzle you get less drain and faster response.

Cool. Thanks for the response.

Do you happen to have a link to the complete kit you were talking about? I'd like to bookmark it for if (realistically speaking, "when") I get around to getting a meth kit.

EDIT: I checked out their website and it looks like you order the kit and then select the upgrades to the cart as well. Is that correct? Also, which kit do you select if you are going to be integrating the system with the JB4 (the Universal Stage 1 or the DVC-30 Stage 2)?

Assuming it is the Universal Stage 1 kit, is this all that would be needed?
Universal Stage 1 Kit $240
Race Tank, if desired $120
Stainless Steel Lines and AN Fittings $75
Solenoid Upgrade to replace check valve $25

Also, what lengths did you need for the lines, and would they be the same for an E92?

I didnt really get a kit...I basically made my kit by ordering everything...because there kit had pieces you do not need for JB4 intergration:

Here is what I got:

250psi pump:

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/...tion-pump.html

4-AN Stainless line upgraded: (Comes with nozzle holder, pump fittings, selonoid fittings) but be sure to put in comments you are NOT using a ckeckvalve but a 250 psi selonoid.

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/...-line-set.html

250psi Selonoid: (Be sure to select 4-AN)

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/...-solenoid.html

Nozzle: (Depends on your mods.....I have the largest DO14)

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/49-nozzles

Tank: (If getting race tank you will need a push in fitting on inlet of pump)

http://www.alcohol-injection.com/en/...mped-tank.html

You will need a BMS FSB that can be purchased here (scroll down to FSB controller):

http://www.burgertuning.com/meth.html

JB4 G5, WEDGE flash, 455 LPFP, HFS-4 meth kit, BMS OCC, VM 6466 ST, RB valve, BMS DCI, 3" AR ***, Custom OC W/ SS lines, ER FMIC, ER CP W/HKS BOV, M3 control arms, M3 guide rods, M3 upper links, M3 front & rear sway-bars, HPA rear toe arms, Wavetrac LSD, HPF Gen 2 exhaust DEFIV kit, KW clubsort, Delrin solid subfrane bushings, stoptech rotors, Rogue Tranny Mounts, 1M bumper, M3 CF hood, MORR VS8.2 rims 245/295
